I trust Teebin. And that actually is good in some ways. Disney is paying for faster construction vs. Opening later.

In all your expertise, what would be the smartest buissness move for avatar. Opening before or after universal's updates?

Yup, in the comments on the Parks Blog here, Bruce Vaughn specifically says "Early 2017" Bringing the World of AVATAR to Life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom « Disney Parks Blog

Honestly it doesn't matter in 2017. Universal has so much opening throughout the year, but the only big thing is a Water Park, which while i'm sure it will be great, I can't see it doing much higher numbers than W&W currently does (Capacity won't allow for it). I'd say if they don't open Avatar by Late Spring they'll just wait until Winter.

People come to Orlando no matter what so the opening date may be something Cameron tries to get positioned well for himself and his own interests to place closely to the next film release. I actually expect Avatar to be Re-released in to theatres the year before Avatar 2 to get Avatar back on the mind of the GP (along with the Cirque show and the theme park land).

This supposes that you know what the capacity is, right? I believe you are assuming to much.

I'm going by what has been posted by reliable sources. I can't remember if it was you or someone else, but I remember hearing the park won't be able to handle much more than 2M (which I suppose is a decent amount more than W&W currently is bringing in per year).

I would think the demographic makeup of Volcano Bay will be drastically different than Wet & Wild. VB will be filled with Universal and Disney tourists and a lesser percentage of the locals than Wet & Wild. So that probability may pull bigger attendance numbers for the two Universal theme parks as a result.

Oh yeah, definitely. I think Universal is likely looking for the guests that will spend more on admission and in-park. I expect at least one well themed Tiki Bar.

Per year? The projected capacity per day is 15 thousand... so, I come up with a much greater capacity annually. Perhaps my math is off.

So looking at this, the capacity is around 5 1/2 million but the projected attendance may be in the neighborhood of 2 million. I don't think Typhoon & Blizzard do much more than 2 to 2.5 million each.

What is the total capacity of RP, Sapphire and Cabana? Volcano Bay will be visible out many of those room's windows.

I think you mixed up your numbers. I believe the post you are talking about was talking about projected first year numbers, not capacity.

I don't think it matters. I think people will visit DAK's biggest expansion ever and it's first true new attraction in 10 years in droves.

No doubt. But both Universal and Disney should have huge gains in 2017 with all that's going on. They'll feed off of one another. That Orlando airport will sure be busy.
