I'm personally not big on the Diagon stores. The area itself is definitely crazy immersive, but at the same time, I only go there to ride Gringotts or to get Butterbeer Ice Cream. The HE is something I'll only do if it has a short wait and I want to switch parks.

Same, not spent ages trying to wade through people in the stores!

Sometimes I think Disney cares more about rock work than their new attractions. Heck, I can't ride rock work. And, not every significant landscape in the world is dominated by bare rocks. Disney is kind of obsessed with it....On the point of comparing it to Diagon. Diagon's strength is that, for most people, they can spend hours upon hours, and days upon days, enjoying and exploring all that's offered. To me, that will be what compares Pandora to Diagon. Will I be able to spend most of a day there. Will there be enough to see and do. Time will tell....Example: New Fantasy Land is really beautiful. But short of the time spent on the rides, after about 15 or 20 minutes of walking around the land, that's it. There's really nothing to do or explore. And only a couple of benches to even sit on and enjoy the ambiance. Not even a single outdoor show happening. Just nothing. But the rock work is really great to look at.

I do love the rock work that Disney produce, I think Cars Land is one of the most visually incredible things I have ever seen in a park but they've been doing it for so long now that they should be amazingly efficient with it.

Some times the numbers for rides blow my mind. I always thought roller coasters never got built because they were so expensive but they're looking like quite cheap options compared to some of the rides that are being created now.

No doubt, the rock work is beautiful. But sometimes I think they overdo it at the cost of the attraction itself. There's only so much money in a budget.

A big B&M roller coaster costs around $25 million. I can see a Disney dark ride costing that but then spending another $25-$50 million on theming, but anything going over $100 million is just ridiculous.

I'm sure I remember reading the original Spiderman ride cost $200million.

Things will always cost more if they're revolutionary. Spiderman was just that, will Avatars rides be so?

Doesn't sound like either will be revolutionary, from what I've read. But it seems they'll both be entertaining & fun.

Unconfirmed rumours the boat ride uses Disneys new omnimover boat system, which potentially would add to the costs.

This expansion has had its critics from the very first day but I'm really excited for it, I just hope the big E Ticket doesn't leave me feeling like soarin, which was 'meh was that it'

What I've been told is this will be a simple boat ride. Nothing new. But I can understand my sources not having the closest info to the project.

Everything seems to have these two attractions being pretty close to clones systems.

I think the high majority of this money is going into the theming of creating two worlds between night and day at Avatar.

I've been told the electrical and lighting cost for the whole land was hugely underestimated.

Sounds right on. Plus I've heard they had to scramble for & greatly over pay for some services/vendors that they didn't contract with early enough in the process. Rookie mistakes you wouldn't expect from an experienced company.

I'd love to see the project plan Disney takes on most of its projects. Sometimes I feel they dump in more cash just to troll the public into thinking its going to be THAT AMAZING if its that expensive..

Universal Creative has been man handling them lately with project execution.

I think Disney's problem is their extreme arrogance which ends up in a cost be damned solution. UC, as you said, is continually doing a 1,2,3 wrestling pin on Disney Imagineering.

I would agree that the majority of the money is going into theming the environment, but don't agree that the rides will just be "clones". I thought I read something about the ride vehicles on the movie ride being something "state of the art".

I think everyone thinks this is a clone because it is Soarin 2.0. But my understanding is that there are elements way different from Soarin. So there is no way this should be called a clone of Soarin. The boat is using the new technology and while that it also being used elsewhere, I don't see this as a total clone as it would be completely different programming, sets, AIs, etc.

I thought I read somewhere that the ride vehicles would actually move as if they were real creatures.

I've always heard this is way more than simply "Soarin 2.0".

It's Soarin' 2.0 in concept but the ride experience will be much more complete and immersive.

That's what I meant. It's a similar style, but with noticeable upgrades and improvements.
