That's a broad statement. Interest from theme park fans and such? Maybe. General guests and super Disney fans? Not at all. MK is still top dog and Epcot holds its own with festivals.

i mean i get your point
Universal is doing an incredible job and is certainly gaining market share
they certainly deserve to reap the rewards of investing into their parks
i dont see them catching Disney overall because the mouse had a huge head start but the next 10 years should be fun to watch
it ll be interesting when both the DAK and DHS expansions are over where everyone stands

sorry for going off topic on this
i think it really depends on what Universal does with the land they just purchased
to pass disney they have to develop another theme park

Disneys success is running of its long standing reign as the the top dog, so any expansion thrives off that alone, no matter the result of new additions (aside from star wars, that will be a killer if executed correctly)

Universal is thriving off new tech, rides, and better updating and release of new rides.

I know which I'm more enticed by these days...

Ha Ha...no. If anything its the beginning of a new period of Disney where they start building state of the art attractions again.

If avatar and Star Wars aren't held to the expectations then it's no hope for Disney , but obviously that's a big if

This is one of my thoughts about Avatar Land possibly costing a $1billion.

Eh. We'll see. Other than the Falcon ride, I'm not seeing much "state of the art" on the docket. That doesn't mean I don't think the other things will be good, FWIW.

Disney does not need state of the art. That much is clear. They are busier than ever and nothing will change that.

That is all they care about. They aren't interested in more attendance, they are only interested in money. If anything, they want less people but more money. That's the feeling I got from Cast Members. They don't want more attractions to better handle crowds, they want ticket prices to go up even higher.

Busier because of their own decisions.

James Cameron Expands ‘Avatar’ Sequels To Four: CinemaCon | Deadline

Well at least they won't run out of new material for future attractions oh wait they won't be making any new attractions and scheduling them to come out against Star Wars too.

There is an open plot for a third attraction, should Cameron dictate an addition to the land and the franchise is successful enough to warrant it.

Again, we don't know what the contract between Cameron & Disney is. Originally three attractions were scheduled, one got cut (a coaster). Maybe a provision got added that if the films were successful enough, Disney was bound to expand the land. But again, we don't know specifics like that.

Yeah, I've always thought about the same. As an example, all of that costly rock work, on just about everything. I'd rather see better attractions and maybe less expensive lush foliage landscaping instead of costly rocks everywhere. Not every landscape in the world is dominated by massive boulders & rocks. ;)

He seems to be going full on prequels-George Lucas.
