I'm probably in the minority according to what I've read on some Disney forums, but I'm looking forward to it. I think it will turn out really good. The general public will probably like it too. But it certainly won't have the marketing or advertising effect of a Star Wars land. But combined with the night show & night Kilimanjaro Safari, I'd think AK will have an attendance boom, though it may take some attendance away from DHS & Epcot.

I will visit at least once at night to catch RoL and this and maybe the night Safari but I am not standing in huge lines (if they materialize) to see this park. I can wait until the crowds are sated.

I'm sure you're right about those crowds once all that opens. I'll probably wait until a year or two, after Pandora opens, to go. Disney crowds are tough to wade through.

I can see this becoming popular more through word of mouth than actual marketing. It's hard to advertise this product other than through personal experience.

Eh... I have a looming doubt over this one...

M:S looked really impressive. We all know how that turned out.

For a company so dead set on nothing without IP tie ins after Everest, the irony of having this open Everest will be chilling.

But seriously.. Mission:SPACE had an exterior paint job that cost $500 a gallon (and obviously used more than just a few gallons.)

tr56_1287-742x244.jpg

Hard to find a good pic, because it had such a short life, but that iridescent purple ombre was one of the "marks of quality" on what was an extremely expensive and "well designed" attraction.

As soon as it became an obvious failure Disney pulled the money away from it and that paint was never purchased again.

If you don't like the project/IP or are skeptical, that's cool, everyone is entitled to their opinions. But at the same time I don't see how anyone is adding anything here other than simple bashing.

Disney imported materials for a quarter million dollar beam for 7DMT (that you can't interact with whatsoever) and made this huge post about it on the blogs showing how dedicated they are at wasting money

Nice photos. These things are what get conversation started, so I'll start.

That military base looks interesting and I think we have established that it will be a food court area. Anyone think that hangar could be a covering for the walkway that goes towards Harambe?

Awesome photos. The land looks huge!
People knock the mess hall idea, but they could theme it really well with glass windows that look into the military base/labs. So will there be large avatar blue aliens walking around?
I wonder if the hanger will feature any of the army aircraft and military weapons.

This construction is fascinating to me. The land elevations are very interesting. Concept art had the walkways are all dirt like....call me a geek but the idea of the natural, non concrete surface makes me :)

I know it will be fake dirty surfaces but still fun to think of

Is larger than I thought and u wonder if it's more than eating. Rumor has it there will be several walk through attractions. Wonder if there will be lab tours?

Those lab tours wouldn't be a bad idea. I think the walk through attractions will mostly be through the glowing Forrest but there may be one for the military base.

2/3rds of the Mission Space pavilion was cut from it's budget.

This, on the other hand, is 100% over budget. Resulting in the world's first billion $$$$ theme park land. This will impress.

It's not a Hanger. It is supposed to be a quonset hut and that is where the mess hall is going.
