That's what I meant. It's a similar style, but with noticeable upgrades and improvements.

I hope the 'take off' is better than Soarin'. That always dove me crazy how we just rise up and the screen turns on...

As far as the boat ride, while the scenery and AI may be new and awesome. It is still in fact looking like a log flume base, good enough to call a clone for now till we see something concrete.

Maybe i missed something?

It uses the new tech which means the boat will not be moved by the current of the water and can actually makes stops and turns. So you will be able to have "show" scenes which is why the track is not as long as a traditional flume type ride.

Didn't miss anything. When you break it down to its simplest form, Pandora is basically a clone of The Land Pavillion.

This will be just another Spiderman / Transformers situation. True, TF use of screens and lay out of ride might be different than Spiderman but technically is the same type of ride. I'm not expecting anything more than an insignificant improvements for "Soarin' Over Pandora" and "It's A Small Pandora".... and river ride layout seems short.

My understanding was it was going to be much different in how the screens were positioned and even how we were positioned and how the movement was done along the screens. So it wouldn't be an exact clone like Spiderman/Transformers was. But I could be wrong.

My point is, Despicable Me got an extended screen (better!) from preview attractions on that building but no matter if the there's a tweak here and there, still Hanna-Barbera. So I'm not going to set myself for disappointment... more than I already am about this, and just look forward to the looks of the Land itself. Visual is the only thing Disney has been good at for the past decade, not technology.

Have we ever gotten confirmation of this? Or is it just hearsay?

Rumors from pretty good sources (DH) and a helicopter picture that showed the track looking like the Shanghai track. I guess it was the track leading from the building to the maintenance bay.

I even think SW land will be less ambitious in the grand scheme of things.

It's just different. SW will be more ambitious along the lines of themed retail and dining, roaming characters etc. more in the vein of what Diagon Alley does so well. Pandora is more one-upping Mysterious Island in terms of rock-work and visual spectacle.

SW will definitely be ambitious in terms of the attractions. The Battle attraction is twice the size of pretty much anything Disney (or Universal) have ever built before.

TF/Spiderman utilizes the same ride tech though. Flight of Passage uses a completely different system altogether. The easiest differences to point out being the ride loads on three different levels and the axis of motion are dialled up.

TF/Spiderman are like siblings, Flight of Passage/Soarin' are more like cousins.

There seems to be a lot of negative vibes towards the "Soarin' 2.0" ride. I was wondering what it would have to do to be considered by yous guys to be a state of the art E-Ticket attraction?

Facade? Queue? Ride vehicle? On ride experience?

I agree, I have seen a lot of negative toward the boat and soarin 2.0 ride. But if Universal was doing this boat ride I feel people would be all over it as an awesome ride. I since the details were released have been the most excited about the boat ride and even more so since rumors have been out there about it using the new tech. But then again I am a sucker for a good boat ride.

Soarin is loved by many and not just because it is one of two good rides in Epcot, people always talk about it. So amping up the emersion and tech seems to me like it would be a winner.

Since I have never seen the movie I can't say what I would have wanted. But I think this will be a nice land with 2 solid rides and a good themed land with those floating mountains.

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to this, too. The only negativity on my end is the length of time this thing has taken to get built, which UNI has kind of spoiled me when it comes to anticipation. I think there are people who don't like the IP so they don't like the land, and in their mind, because they hate the IP, everyone else does too. This is exactly the thing AK is in desperate need of.

And yeah, I love a good boat ride. Put some pretty lights a cool AAs in it, I'm there. You get a thrill ride with a family ride to boot. Awesome stuff. It's good to see WDW try again.

Same here. Never understood the hate. I am especially excited about the boat ride. Indoor boat rides are actually my favorite type of ride. I would love for Universal to build a good one. And no, I'm not a pixie duster. Just calling it like I see it.
