I think with a strong marketing campaign expanding the mythology of the series, it'll perform well, but it won't reach anywhere near the take of the original.

if star wars was 700,000,000 short of Avatar no movie for a while will catch it
although i do think the international market (where it was so big) is undervalued here

I would have died if it said "They're real" instead.

But yeah, that's very impressive.

AA looks good, I guess. I had to laugh when Disney put up a poll on twitter and Avatar was getting trounced by Toy Story Land in the "excitement" department

Avatar sequels will do well at the international box office but likely be a dud domestically. This land belongs at SHDL.

so he's already comparing the Avatar saga to the Godfather. He is filming them all at once, so even if the sequel flops, he will most likely continue to release the films as the money has already been spent. Editing this movie is going to be a real challenge I'm thinking.

Avatar won't flop, but it won't do the business the first one did that then green lit the sequels and this land.

The first one did $2.7B, $2B+ of which was overseas. The sequels won't fail, simply because of the overseas money.

Listen, I'm interested in seeing the next Avatar...but 4 more Avatar films? Ugh...He's so talented and RICH. He could literally do ANY script/Any movie/Theme/etc he wants...and this is how he wants to spend his golden years? I just don't know...

It could be so much worse if the Terminator rights revert back to him 2019.

I'd have to agree. Just a tad bit too much muscular motion for me to buy it.

IF it is the AA, well done! But i think its over animating for a ride you might just be passing by and not interacting with...

That's the reason why Disney go over budget.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but it IS A REAL AA.....

It has been well documented by Cameron they have pushed the boundaries of axis that Disney has scratched the surface of in the past....
