After having some what reserved hype for this, I'm sold. I think this is ticking a lot of boxes for what is needed in the park.

Did anybody else get the impression that there could be a barbershop quartet performing a new street show?

I've listened to it again and I misheard it slightly. It would make a nice addition to the park however.

Now is this supposed to be Kong-esque, in the sense like this is just an attraction to make USF better, or to go toe-to-toe with HP?

They removed an underperforming attraction with bad scores and replacing it with a new attraction. Don't read too much into it.

As for ride system I stand by that this won't be as impressive as everyone thinks.

Needless to say, nothing revealed today makes me excited for the ride, save for the exterior, which looks fantastic. But so it goes; I know I'm in the minority. Unless this attraction is hiding something to really blow me away, I can't see doing it more than once; given that I have no affinity for the host, "The Tonight Show" as a brand, or NBC itself, I'll probably prefer to get my simulator-y kicks on Minion Mayhem and Simpsons.

The "Making of" video Universal put out today does offer some interesting revelations, however; it appears as though Fallon was basically shot exclusively in front of green screen, which implies he'll either be composited into real plates shot in New York... or all the backgrounds will be digital. Given how dodgy the cityscapes in Hollywood's Fast & Furious attraction are, Universal had better up their game in that department if that's what they're doing.

Does anybody know if some actual filming was done on the streets of - or in the skies above - NYC?

It's sounding good for what's always been described as a D ticket attraction. I don't think anyone has ever considered it an E ticket attraction which always carries higher expectations.

Live performances by the Ragtime Gals barbershop quartet. That sounds like fun.

I love Soarin' and part of me thinks this will be a great addition to the park in terms of adding something new and some variety but then it's just up the road from Shrek and Despicable Me.

Agree with @Mad Dog , after all we've had over the last few years a smaller D ticket is, well, just the ticket. Not every new addition can be state of the art. It will be a good filler attraction that is better than twister whilst bringing that area together. I for one am looking forward to this one, should be fun.

I mean depending on the ride system it may be way more intense than Soarin as some of those flying theatres have the ability to tilt and dip you on another level but in general, the CGI, the total effects will be equal to Soarin.

Well, Soarin is generally considered the number one or number two ride in Epcot. Not a bad comparison for an attraction (Jimmy Fallon) that has the cost of a D ticket attraction. If it ends up just about equal to Soarin, that's a big win for Universal.

Soarin' with a plot or humour sounds like a home run.

I've been watching some of the Ragtime Gals and if this gets turned into a street show, I'll probably be more excited about that.

I would LOVE IT if the Ragtime Girls (Barbershop Quartet) replaced the sing it show in New York.

It's interesting that they are including that act in the first place. He hasn't performed it on the show in over a year and a half.

I don't think it will be that ambitious.

What is funny is that it would be stealing some thunder from Main Street USA with a sarcastic wink.
