Suck up.

I just enjoy the fact that UNI is making efforts to ensure that there are a multitude of offerings for everyone of all types. A mix of simulators and actual motion rides gives us all something to do. Plus, spending some time in air conditioning on a hot Florida afternoon is worth quite a bit.

Kennywood has an Ice Age short movie with the squirrel. The marquee mentions the name of the movie and "13 Minutes of Free Air Conditioning".

Heh, Kennywood's my local park 10 to 15 minutes away. And it has free parking too. :box:........:)

I think that frequent visitors to the park can get a little picky sometimes. I totally understand that repetition is bothersome and I would really like rides with new variety, but I just visited the parks for the 2nd time (my 1st was very brief) and my mind was completely blown!! Universal is a park of its own kind. It is so immersive and fun!! I'm a lover of details, and seeing Universal in comparison to my park Busch Gardens is absolutely incredible! I wish that i lived in Orlando and had the opportunity to go to Universal that much! We have to count our blessings because Universal is a state of the art amusement park that, yeah, is a little reliant on screenz, but provides such a great experience :clap: I want to go back!!:peace:

Aside from E.T. and Men & Black I can't think of any real dark ride at Universal anymore.

Now there is truth in advertising. Other theme parks could learn quite a bit from them. Ellen's Energy Adventure could advertise 45 minutes of free air conditioning.

Yeah, however, the more often one is able to visit, you will see shortcomings as you will become a bit less dazzled. As an example, in 2006 I became disappointed in Uni's concrete walking paths as they were cracking and not being fixed. At the same time, I was able to watch Epcot cut out entire sections and fix said concrete.

These details will become more apparent the more often you visit. You will also become more aware of operations dropping the ball at times.

It's not whining, but just a fact. The great things will most often still be great.

Forbidden Journey and Cat in the Hat.

You may wonder "Why am I counting FJ?", as I would say that it's not a traditional simulator, with chunks of dark ride moments and not as many Screen based moments. And as for CitH, it is a classic Dark Ride in its own right.

With this definition from Wikipedia you can include more in that list as well. Pretty much all the indoor rides with show scenes of some kind, physical or 3D, as long as it's a moving vehicle so no Shrek, DM, or Simpsons.
A dark ride or ghost train is an indoor amusement ride on which passengers aboard guided vehicles travel through specially lit scenes that typically contain animation, sound, music, and special effects.

I would respectfully add Reign of Kong as well.

I have high hopes for this attraction. As has been previously stated, Twister was not great. This facade should be better. I have confidence in the creative lead, Jason Surrell (who cut his teeth at WDI, Disdains!) Among other things and talents, Surrell is a huge fan of popular culture and late night television. Fallon himself, is quite capable of doing creative things. At worst, this should be fun as a one off, at best, this could be an attraction one does every trip. Even if it is the same as Minion Mayhem, how often do you/can you ride it with the 75 minute wait?

Lots and lots of hand-wringing lately about Universal news. As I see it, this is a *Bonus* attraction, or as we say in Louisiana, "lagniappe." I am very excited about this, about the Repository, I loved Kong (and cannot wait to ride it again and again and again), and I'm very much positive about the future of Universal Orlando...something I could not say in 2007 before the "2000 calorie Butterbeers."

It always amazing to me how Universal was able to fit a major coaster in such a small footprint, that really couldn't be used for anything else significant. I know many hard core fans don't like RRR, but it does create a lot of kinetic energy for the park, and it generally has long lines, so the general public must like it.

The only recent Universal theme park projects that have received unanimous acclaim are the Potter lands.

Live entertainment, Kong, USH's Fast/Furious, (looks like) Fallon, and USF's Fast/Furious are not equaling the Potter standard.

That's not a good trend.

(And what has Surrell accomplished in park design? He's written books on classic attractions. Anything else of note that he's done?)

Even FJ and Gringotts have their haters so it's not unanimous.* Kong easily meets that standard and imo is superior to Gringotts. Transformers is a pretty great ride too. Fallon could at least be funny to counter F&F's pure :poop:fest. Then we have Volcano Bay, SLoP, and Nintendo. For me F&F will be their first true fail, and on both coasts no less.

*Motion sickness on FJ, "screenz", 3D, etc.

Even as I thought Supercharged was fine for what it was; I agree. It won't be exactly on the same level as FJ and Gringotts, but in the end; that is an attraction with the ability of having a high capacity, alongside that it'll get people away.

That being said, I am much more excited about Fallon, than Supercharged.

Fact remains that UC seems to do better work when WB is riding herd. You can add Hulk to the list of UC's mixed reviews, too.

Perhap's you forgot about USH's Universal Blvd; their Springfield; and other changes outside of USH (UOR's CW changes, Cabana Bay, and others..). Not to mention, you should wait on that till Volcano Bay, Nintendo, and SLoP opens.

And the stellar reviews for Spider-Man's update? If you're right thankfully Nintendo would most likely be just as hard as WB, possibly even more so.
