I wouldn't doubt that Universal has evolved the simulator ride system a step or two...They've been catching duplicates for years and I'm sure they have enough simulator candy by now

What does he mean by that comment? That they added an area where the outdoor queue used to be?

Looks like the building itself is higher than it used to be.

I don't know. Looking at Google Earth, the roof line of the soundstage itself looks the exact same to me.

I had some free time so I looked at old pics and Google Maps. Maps now shows very recent images after current construction. Older images show Twister was around the same height as the building facades next to it. Now the building looks to be a full story plus taller.

Yep. And it really makes sense. We're in Fallon's TV theater seating when the "event" happens. So, of course, it's a" flying theater", not individual separated conveyances like Soarin or Simpsons.

Ok, HERE it is! I was concerned the "set" was removed from the plans.

BTW has anybody seen the Mass Effect 4D ride at California's Great America? There's an interesting aspect to it where they use full-motion benches that don't require seatbelts. The system uses a weight sensor to detect if a guest has exited which shuts down that specific bench, and if the guest comes close to another moving bench, sensors shut that off as well.

(skip to 15:25 for the benches/ride POV)

Now, if you're going to see a "taping" of The Tonight Show, then seatbelts or lap bars would seem quite odd. This would be a great system to use for this ride but I assume they're just gonna strap us in. :(

I have to imagination this is some type of weather insulation paint or something.. I've been to 30 rock quite a few times and have never seen that color paint.

I'm not sure if this has been posted yet, however while searching the interweb for a more specific timeframe for opening besides 2017, I was reading the wiki for the ride.. check out what the ride system is described as LOL

Anyhow.. does anyone know if this is a first-half or second half of 2017 opening?

I just thought of something when going on the tour the other day. Not really a big deal but something I've wondered. Do you think they might steal some snippets from the Tour on ride and queue videos for the ride's queue line? Obviously they wouldn't include stuff that mentions the tram, but I could see that as a quick way to put together the queue line videos.

It's possible but they're making a Jimmy Fallon ride with easy access to the star, you'd better believe that everything is going to be original. There could be a parody of it however.

"Oops, sorry. Wrong park!"

As much as I used to loathe Twister, I used to still ride it as the line was short. I also always loved the details in the queue, and the sense of disaster was so nice on that ride. I didn't like being squirted by water, or on other times, soaked by those effects, but it was definitely different in comparison to the other attractions in the park.

Here, i don't want a moving platform with 4D effects. Europe in the Air is not a fun ride in my opinion. I don't even like Soarin'. I'm just so over 4d effects, this ride just seems the same as Shrek and Minions. I just don't get it. Also i bet the line won't be a walkon anymore either. Like at least with Twister you could ride it when everything was crowded, now that this will be here, it'll just be another 90 minute wait. Maybe the 90 minute wait on Fallon with make both Minions + Transformers wait-time shorter? Idk. I hope my low expectations aren't met though

In MidwayMayhem's most recent video, he mentions that Fallon is ahead of schedule and rumors say it could be open as soon as the Holiday time period.

Is there ANY substance to said rumor? That's certainly the earliest I've heard. It's always been around March from what I hear.

Europe in the Air is nothing like Minion Mayhem or Shrek...the movement is more like star tours except in a much longer space like Soarin. A more tame and large scale version of BTTF/Simpsons. Is it a motion platform, yes? But if its that ride system it will be nothing like the two rides by it other than being screen based and 4D.
