That was my conundrum last week while at WDW and I chose to not buy a park hopper or try for Rise. Plus, I am not an early riser on vacation and didn't want to get up at 6:30 AM just to get a boarding group. So, we skipped it. I will eventually ride it but probably not this year. Plus, as I mentioned before, I fight a little anxiety when "trapped" on a ride (ex. When The Beast broke down while I was at the top of the second lift hill. Not scared of heights but did not like being unable to leave). So, waiting until the ride is a little more reliable is a better option. I recognize that any ride can break down but I have more confidence in riding Pirates of the Caribbean than a brand new ride.

Well, Rise does have restrooms mid-queue. Apparently, you are taken to a backstage area if I understood it correctly. I'm not sure that I want resistance personnel escorting me.

I do love the Skyliner. It's an attraction with great capacity, and more fun than some of the rides. It really makes it easy to move between parks. One of Disney's best moves.

Seriously. Who knew? I was dissing the Skyliner when it was announced and right up until I rode it. Now I praise Disney for it and it is one of my favorite experiences....like the People Mover in the sky.

How sad is it that people are paying $100+ for a day at a theme park but will have to "wait until next year" to ride the star attraction. Big FAIL on Disney's part.

I figured if the ride wasn't working I was at least building my lightsaber, and I'd have fun in the land. Plus the only park I'd be able to hop to with a boarding group would be Epcot...and no thanks, honestly

From INSIDER Marni today, on Magic, concerning RotR..."Lottery and Farce. I pity the first timers or the regular fan guests. This is not how a theme park should present it's offerings to paying guests". ...Ouch. Strong words from Marni. He is rarely this harsh on Disney..................................and, it was a really bad weekend, and week, for the ride. Constant breakdowns & evacuations. Amount of Boarding Groups about half of what they were when it opened. And those numbers weren't good either. Disneyland is doing better.

Disneyland is doing better although there are still problems beyond the ride out there.

Is the difference between DL's version and DHS's version (reliability wise) due to DL taking longer to open and maybe they fixed more things than the DHS version? I'm just wondering.

They just keep getting lower and lower on the non backup boarding groups daily. Today the first group was #15 and the last group was #55 (from Magic Boarding groups thread). That's only 40 groups total..So, 3,500 to 4,000 apx. riders. ..Back up groups started at #56.

Got to the park today around 7:15am today. Waited around until 8 to get my boarding group. I was 34. My group got called at 9:35am and I entered the line. The queue was filled to just inside the caves. So I had to wait another hour and 15 mins in line and got into the first 2 preshows (Hologram and Ship) at 10:50. Once on the star destroyer there was another line. I waited another 10 mins to get into the 3rd preshow (Interrogation) and finally got off the ride at 11:10am. The ride was great but it was not worth the hassle it is to get on it. I hated having to wait in an hour and 15 min line after my boarding group was called. This affected my experience on the ride. Why not let people enjoy the park a little longer before calling them in with no wait?

Operationally, that would not be feasible. It would be virtually impossible to guarantee that boarding groups have "no" wait, unless you only want to let an even smaller fraction of the park's guests onto the ride per day and can control exactly when these people enter the line by having an extremely short, regimented boarding period.

I’m not saying wait free but it shouldn’t be an hour and a half line if you’re using a virtual queue to begin with.

That doesn't seem to be the norm. The ride must have been having issues. I'd say average wait in queue once called if the ride is working probably is around 20-30 minutes. Anyone else on multiple rides want to confirm?

I’ve done it 3 times and the longest I waited was maybe 25 min.

On the second weekend, I waited about 30 minutes to the first preshow and another 5 inside the Star Destroyer. 3 weeks ago, I only waited 15 up to the preshow but about 10 minutes inside the Destroyer; if I wasn't a single rider, that probably would've been another 5 minutes.

The line was slowly moving the whole time so it didn't seem like there were any issues. I went in with the impression we'd walk through most of the line because that's what happened for everyone else who posted a video online. But this seemed purposeful. A new boarding group was called every 5-10 mins that morning. They knew the line was full and kept calling numbers.

Looking at comments on Magic it seems like they're piling up the boarding groups quite often now, often resulting in long wait times, ever since the daily capacity has been dropping the past weeks....On a somewhat related note, Marni insinuated they're getting close to solving one of their problems that popped up at DHS, and they'll be able to get back to the earlier capacity (which was more than double the present capacity) within the next couple of months.....Also, Len Testa from Touring Plans says that they believe the present boarding groups each comprise about 100 riders at DHS, but about 150 riders at Disneyland.

I wonder if it is the famed "elevator" issue where one side apparently wasn't behaving.

They lose track of the vehicles in the drop shafts. Plus one night maintenance totally ruined three of the shafts. Ooops.
