USF definately shouldn't change names, the brand is too recognizable and it still matches a studio in the absolute vaguest sense.

What I do think they should do is some sort of re-dedication to the park. What used to be just a celebration of just film and television has expanded into music, literature, and video games, both through new lands and an entire second park. Something as simple as a plaque or new motto to showcase this different and expanding direction would suffice.

Guys USF is still a studio park. And yes the entrance needs a major overhaul as it's easily the least inviting in any theme park in orlando.

Definitely needs a new entrance. But there's so much happening, I would think that's a few years away.

Did people already forget that there was production in USF literally last week for Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt?

Production in the park may be much less prevalent than it used to be, but it still happens every so often. The closest that DHS has come to production is a live "Baseball Tonight" broadcast before ESPN the Weekend ended. and before that REAL production was honestly nowhere to be found since the early/mid 90's.

There's a reason DHS is changing names and has an identity crisis. USF does not have that problem.

Oh this is still a thing. I'm calling this now, SLOP will be one of the highest grossing films of all time by the end of its theater run. Everytime I go to the theater, there's a reaction from the audience from the first shot alone. kids and adults both cracking up by the end, it's gonna be a monstrous hit. People eat this stuff up by the pounds, it's a genius idea, not really the film itself but buissness wise. The concept appeals to pretty much anybody who likes cute things and animals. A ride would happen eventually anyways

I think you're expecting a little too much, but then again, maybe i'm just a bit indifferent to the project.

Not to veer too much into box office discussion, but while Pets will be very successful and maybe Universal's biggest movie of the year it won't outgross Finding Dory or Zootopia. July is too crowded for it to get over 300 million IMO.

You act like I love this garbage. Stuff SLOP is slop, cutesy garbage thats turning the art form of animation into a means of selling merch. After minions did so well, it's gonna destroy it for the same reasons

finding dory is questionable because the last couple Pixar sequels didn't do so hot. Yeah it's of a bigger franchise but the trailer's not getting that big of a reaction and Pixar is easy to make fun of now. Zootopia maybe, think SLOP has the head start and is just owning its market. I think it's gonna make a ton opening weekend and remain that way for a bit

People forget how big Finding Nemo was, it adjusts to 490 million with 2016 prices and even higher when you figure 3D would be added in. Even if Finding Dory sucks it won't miss 300 million, Monsters University was able to reach 268 with a weaker response and DM2 a couple weeks later.

To your first point - no I don't think that you love this. I was simply replying.

Secondly, Pixar has produced 3 sequels since 2010. Of those, only one has been a decided "flop" and a critically panned movie, being Cars 2. The sequels i'm referring to are Monsters University, Cars 2 and Toy Story 3.

2 of those 3 are among Pixars top 5 grossing domestic films - Toy Story 3 being #1.

I wouldn't really consider Cars 2 a flop, it still made double the budget and has tons of toy sales. The latter is the only reason they're making Cars 3.

I agree with everyone, Finding Dory will be very popular. People know about it, I know several people have told me about it even though I knew about it. Mainly because we did our daughters nursery in a Nemo theme. Sandy bottom, then ocean, then sky with all the characters swimming in the ocean. So I am probably a magnet for people to tell me there is a new movie coming out. But my point is, people know the movie is coming out and they will take their kids. Kids love fish about as much as they like animals. I don't think either of the 3 films will be flops, but it will be interesting to see who ends up 1, 2, and 3. I think it will be Dory, slop, and zoo. But I am pretty bad at this so I will probably be wrong lol

I wanted to point out that Cars series mainly appeals to boys. Now my daughter loves it, but she also likes Dragons. So you can't gauge anything from her. But I know at her school the boys gravitate to cars. But when it comes to Slop, Nemo, and Zoo they all appeal to both genders. Both genders love animals and marine life, which is why I think all three movies will be successful.

I agree with your points too, they're all gonna make insane amounts of money no matter what happens. Pets opening first will probably give it the higher pedistal. The other two are gonna have to fight to get up to it. It's gonna be a hit no matter what goes up next to it

Pets opens after both of them:

Zootopia: March 4
Dory: June 17
Pets: July 8

There will be a slight overlay/reference in Animal Actors. Between that and merch popping up I would not expect much more unless it is a mega hit.

I really wish there was a way to salvage the AA show, as the resort needs shows (can't believe I said that, but they are the anti Disney here) and it's a cute show for families and kids.

It likely could. They already deal with animals over there (albeit smaller ones) and it's not like that stadium really has any theme to it.
