Well, some thoughts on that video...

I rescind my comment about us outrunning it.. well, we still could, but obviously the desk jockeys from UC could not.

It is faster, but it's still not "fast."

And was I the only one screaming "The show door! The show door is going to close on you!!!!!" at the end of the video just before it cuts out?

All i gotta say is, speaking from experience, Show Door don't give a damn. Show Door does what it wants.

Man, this outdoor portion, while quick, should really set up the ride nicely. Plus, it seems like it jostles quite a bit, so it should be tons of fun!

It isn't as quick as that video made it out to be. They sped it up considerably.

I don't think it was sped up. I looked for visual clues and if you watch UC chasing after the vehicle. Their arms swing naturally not frantic as if it was played back at high speed.

If I remember rightly the RVs have 4 Wheel Steering??, it looks to be in play at the beginning of that video, no Truck that long can turn that sharply that quickly!

The front of that truck is much to clean???

Skull Island roads cant be that smooth and clean...

I hope there is still some aging and mud art work to do, but I feel that would of been done before the vehicle was put in circulation.

I thought so too. Maybe the theme is that your group is a new expedition, so the cars would be unused? But that would just be lazy.

If you are looking at the road while riding this, you are doing it wrong. It's probably not themed because it can't be in order for it to work properly. Nitpick.

Seems he complained about the roads being "too smooth" as well. I don't think that truck looks that "new" either.

Just wait a couple seasons. The public is sure to bang it up pretty good.

The Construction on this ride has been pretty swift, I think that extra theme elements will be implemented after they test a little bit.

He's saying the front of the RV should be covered in mud, because on Skull Island, the roads would be wet, rutted and muddy.

It does look pretty clean for a jungle expedition truck. But I think it looks pretty cool.

I am so impatient I couldn't stand waiting for a reply.

Regardless of what you mean, UC and Universal builds redundancy into their attraction. Not because they want a backup like NASA in case one fails. They want dual or triple confirmation that a vehicle is where it is supposed to be just to keep their attractions super safe. So, I have come away with the impression that if two are reporting conflicting information, the whole thing comes to a complete e-stop.

I believe this answers your question. ;)

My thought was the white thing in the front seat is a positioning beacon.

Right...which brings me to my point. The ride actually has to "work". You can't have wet and muddy roads. They can only get "too real" before it gets impractical. If you are going to complain, complain that there is no actual "driver" and you are basically being driven around by a film projection.

He's not saying it should be a muddy track either, he is saying there should be more dirt detail on the front of the RV....

They could take all the RV's to Volcano Bay construction site (obviously they would HAVE TO build a wireless track between the 2 sites to do this) and ride them around there to muddy them up each morning so they look authentic.....

Or they could just throw some brown paint on them.

On a serious note, they do look boxfresh.

Haha wow this backlash is awesome.

Yes, all I was saying is the front of the truck looks like its fresh off the assembly line.

Think of the KS safari truck it has fake dirt and mud caked all over it making it look badass.

Why is puzzles me is because if you look at the sides of the truck it does looked a bit aged and beat up from the roads.

This makes the truck look incomplete to me.

And obviously i don't expect the road to be wet and muddy, for this ride system in particular (which is why they hide it with the wall)

KS won the muddy road challenge years ago....

I think it is like construction photos - they are not open yet! They still have to put the roof on and clad the doors plus finish the inside so some paint could be coming. It looks like an unfinished vehicle to me at this time.
