Please, please, please don't go Countdown to Extinction/Alien Encounter on this ride, Universal.

Yea I wasn't 100% sure I just remember reading somewhere the ride could have been scarier but I didn't know the reason why , but it's not to many scary rides in theme parks so it needs to stay, last scary ride I remember was that old Disney alien encounter ride

My understanding is dementor's hands encroached into the ride path so they were removed. Any other changes to ride profile were done to reduce motion sickness.

Not to derail the thread, but weren't there reports of several additional dementor figures that were deactivated because people reported feeling freaked out by how many dementors there were so close to the ride vehicle? And supposedly these figures are still present in the ride, but hidden in darkness?

They're there, but I'm not sure how they'd be considered all that scary. There's just a few stationary ones above us as the soul suck effect happens

I don't know. Allegedly it's a WB thing.

Considering how frightening most of Uni's classic attractions were/are, I'm not worried about Kong being toned down

I'm just a little frightened to see how big everything inside the ride really is haha because I keep thinking if the old Kong ride was massive with a huge gorilla how big is this new monster going to be with so much more technology and money put into it

I am still sticking with my prediction of 3 vehicles for softs and 4 or 5 for official opening day. We are too many months off of opening for it to only officially open with 2 vehicles.

As for the scary part. Sure Disney dumbs things down, but I don't see Universal doing this. I still am curious how they do the line scariness and child swap.

Just saw my first Reign Of Kong television commercial and I only screamed a little bit. Plus Im from New York so was so excited to see the word is being spread everywhere. Just a few more weakssssss!

They have squeezed in a 1/2 sec clip of movie Kong into their standard resort commercial right after the gringotts dragon breathing fire. I believe that just started in the last 10 days.

they might have removed dementors bc people just acting stupid on vacation.Last time i rode fj this guy on my vehicle kept trying to kick the dementors and anything else that came close.

I'll be blunt: take your hype from an 11 to like a 4-5.

While your imagined attraction sounds wonderful, it is just that, imagined.
