Knowing the folks who inhabit this website and your idea of a "thrill" as well as your affinity for things like HHN...

I'll be blunt: take your hype from an 11 to like a 4-5.

While your imagined attraction sounds wonderful, it is just that, imagined.

I think Debbie Downer, in her short time on this planet, has experienced everything there is to experience. Therefore, nothing in existence can possibly excite, satisfy or thrill Debbie Downer. ;)

No, nor have I been inside the building or behind the walls.

I want the folks here to have a positive experience though. Under promise, over deliver and all that... But right now people are expecting way more than they should from any attraction.

Which should have been the lesson from Gringotts, but alas the fan community cannot resist a good slice of hype pie.

I don't think it will really matter what anyone says, the hype train will not stop regardless of previous let downs. Then again so much depends on personal opinion.. To this day I still have a hard time deciding if Gringotts is the best ride at the resort overall. Some rides I'm like YEAH BABY!!! Other rides I'm like ehh FJ is better.. Maybe I'm wishy washy lol.

Regardless everything I've heard about this attraction is nothing short of top shelf. But if everyone goes into this thinking it will be the greatest ride in the world your probably going to be disappointed cause I mean c'mon. If you go into this just wanting to see some amazing tech and an overall amazing experience your probably going to leave EXTREMELY HAPPY

Really, I just want to be surprised. So I'm trying to go into this with the idea that this will just be one 3-D screen after the other, and anything else will be a bonus. Rhino Rally at BGT was a great example, went in just expecting a safari ride, and was delightfully surprised at the end when you went floating down the river, ended up being one of my favorite ride memories. Just surprise me. I think that's why Gringott's fell flat for so many of us, we heard about the potential of that type of ride system for so long, and then it just ended up not being enough for us whereas it's a perfectly fun experience for the average Joe.

No doubt it's impressive, but a lot of early reviews expressed some disappointment with the ride, saying it's the least part of the Potter expansion (which may say more about the quality of the expansion as a whole).

I'm approaching Kong with cautious optimism but I'm not building it up like I did Gringotts. I expected more sets with Gringotts, so I've learned my lesson. If Kong is only 50% screens, I'll be pleasantly surprised.

The technical bells and whistles will be neat, I'm sure, but this ride is all about Kong's appearance at the end for me!

I genuinely wish I could experience Gringotts through the eyes of those of you who are blown away by it! I really mean that! It is very possible that I am jaded, but the ride just doesn't give me anywhere close to the feeling of utter amazement and elation that Spider-Man and Forbidden Journey do, for example.

You guys are just luckier, I guess!

I agree. I'm not letting myself get hyped one bit for this attraction. I'm going to go in expecting what I expect from Universal (as a tourist would) and if it's better, then great. They succeeded.

I'm glad we are getting the point across that it's bad idea to be excited for anything because it might disapoint you later. That's a great way to live life

I'm terrible at imagining the size of land and buildings from drawings and photos so I'm not really expecting this to be that big but everything I've read on here is telling me otherwise.

For an area like Kong, that's the size of nearly three acres, its impressive. Will it translate to the ride? We'll find out soon enough.

I think everyone is different. Like I still don't understand the love for FJ. The storyline is just not there for me. I like it, but it is not my favorite must do ride there. I like Gringotts better.

One moment they are escorting you (Harry and Ron), the next they are in the middle of a Quiditch match and then you end in the chamber of secrets, who's entrance is in a bathroom ...
