Oh hell no. If she starts to have a fit we leave. She knows it and doesn't push her limits. This fit happened while leaving and lasted a total of 30 seconds because I think she realized she wasn't going to get what she wanted and there was no reason to risk losing something else.

My issue is to whether to let her make the decision which I am sure will be a yes or if I should know better and not let her on it because it could give her nightmares. She has never had a nightmare from a movie or ride before. But not sure if Kong would push her over the edge.

We experience at least 3-5 fits per child on a typical theme park day :bang:

Mine can handle scary movies but when Kong is in your face for real its a whole new ball game :jaw:

Agreed. I won't push my daughter to ride anything. Even with ToT as much as I wanted her to do it, I asked like 5 times while in line whether she was sure if she wanted to do this or not. I just see no reason to push her. She has always wanted to go on anything she was tall enough no matter what it was and there is not a ride out there she has not on her own gone back on, even ToT. But then again at the age of 2 she wanted to go on Hulk after seeing how fun coasters were with Barnstormer lol

It seems little sister is following in her steps since she loves all the stuff at Sea World.

But I think I might have to be the adult on this one and say no until I can ride it. Or hope another member with small kids rides it first and tells me how it went

I think it is different for you because you are not a local. I just tell her we will leave if she doesn't stop and fit ends. She knows we will follow thru on that threat because we don't care, it is her loss. I can count the number of fits she has had at a theme park since she started going on 1 hand. And only 1 I actually remember which is the one at Sea World where I dragged her out of the food place while she was screaming mac and cheese to the top of her lungs. We almost had to follow thru on the leaving. But I took her outside, sat her on a bench, and nicely told her to look around at all the things we could do if she calmed down. If she didn't calm down we would be exiting the park and not doing those fun things. By the time my husband was back from the bathroom she had calmed down. She even later ate her dinner she refused to eat when she got hungry. She didn't even complain about it.

But again, I will and she knows I will follow thru on leaving the park. I think people who vacation here can't really use that threat. What are you going to do drive or fly back home? It is not realistic.

My mom wouldn't leave - bc in her mind that was still me "winning" - shed continue her day and have a BLAST in my face, hah. MY bad decision wasn't going to ruin her vacation.

I understand not wanting to "scar" or "damage" your children. But, as parents, I, sure you know that kids are weird as can be and its impossible to predict some things. Try your best but I think theme parks are great testing grounds.

if I came crying off a ride:

"Yeah, the ride was REALLY scary - what did I tell you? Maybe your mother is smarter than you give her credit!" And shed walk away as I shuffled after.

I sincerely doubt it will. I suspect it's about as scary as an extremely tame HHN house. Or actually, like walking through a scarezone - at dusk, as the park is transitioning over, they've just turned on the fog machines and you don't really know if the scareactors are out on set or not yet.

Or like.. you work in an office and you have this jerk who thinks it's funny to jump out of the copy room and go "Boo!" when you walk by reading a report.

That's about as scary as I feel it's going to be.

Jack is a character that anyone can be made to look like.

Looks like shrunken head from night bus to me...

Although the Jack character was made up by people and other people have played him, don't underestimate how much of the character came directly from James and the amazing job he's done over the last 16 years. Although the too other boys are decent actors, they don't even come close to James' portrayal of the character. James is a theme park legend, have some respect for his contributions to the world that you care enough about to be on forums for.

I understand not wanting to "scar" or "damage" your children. But, as parents, I, sure you know that kids are weird as can be and its impossible to predict some things. Try your best but I think theme parks are great testing grounds.

When I was 13 my parents let me make the decision to go in the old Haunted Castle attraction on the 192.... I thought I was grown up enough and brave enough since I was THIRTEEN.

Needless to say I made it less than halfway through and had to be escorted out by an actor. Did it scar me.... no. Now, I work at a scare attraction and absoloutly LOVE going to them. I was just a bit too young at the time!
