About 15 new pages since I was on last night, have we as a community settled down a bit? I'm hesitant to go through 15 pages if it's anything like the mixed review, screens, over-hype arguing we had last night.

No.

Guys this is why I ask for everyone to chill woth the pages of talk about what TMs say about softs. If you need up to the minute info check out OU on Twitter.

I'll write a review soon. Need a nap first. But I will say I liked this more than Gringotts the first time.

Gringotts felt short to me and I was worried given what others were saying that this one would feel short too, especially after waiting 7 hours in the sun, but each scene actually felt much longer than I was expecting.

While people are getting down on the only 3 screen thing, the final screen is like longer than the other two combined. It's like 3 scenes in one. My brain was totally tricked into thinking we were hauling ass through the jungle, falling into a revine, and being attacked by dinosaurs. I mean the Dino bit the air right next to me and I felt his spit. It was incredible.

You can't feel the spit, guts, and blood sprays or smell kong breath, Dino breath, or jungle must through a YouTube video.

I cannot wait to do it again!

(note: this is not my review, just adding to the screenz and YouTube video discussions)

I mean, a 3/5 is like a 7 to 7.5. That's still pretty positive. I consider mixed to be a mix of bad and great. I've personally seen more positive than negative (from those who have actually ridden it) - especially the local experts and bloggers. Even those with criticisms about the screens still give the ride a fairly good review.

Now see.... this comes off as petty. If you don't like the ride, then fine but don't act as if all the people who enjoy the ride wear rose-colored glasses.

What's still surprising to me is that people are surprised it does use screens. Even if you didn't follow us when Hate broke the rumor, it was always known as an expansion to the Kong 360 experience.

I think part of the problem, and many of us did try to make sure this was clear, is to not overhype Kong. It was never meant to be the next step beyond Potter, but another solid attraction to their IOA line-up. It's taking essentially a dated franchise and breathing new life into a well-known icon.

I disagree that the bloggers and podcasters didn't hype Kong. One podcast claimed it was shaping up to possibly be the best ride in the world. I actually haven't had high expectations for it, but a lot of people obviously did.

On a side note, it's great that you and others have loved the ride. But needing to excuse mixed reviews (a 2/5 for the screens which doesn't sound glowing) makes the discourse feel more like...I won't say it...another fan base.

I'm just intrigued by the reviews that have repeated some of the problems with Gringotts. I'm at the point of wondering whether UC learns from previous projects.

On the exit we passed through a hallway with a center railing where people were waiting. They were being escorted in the exit by suits (TMs in dress shirts). I wonder if that is a disabled entrance? Not much capacity there

That is the single riders queue. Right now it is logically being used for VIPs.

Well you can see the first AA from the single rider queue I believe.

The witch? What robotic character are you talking about? If so, NO. Express will be able to knock on the wall behind the witch and that's it.

I think he is talking about the witch, their were TMs standing in what looks like the single rider queue that runs alongside the right side of the witch

I didn't say others bloggers and podcasts, I said us. Just wanted to clarify.

Now I'm not excusing the mixed reviews, just saying I've seen more positive than the others. I know Kyle personally, and I respect his review, but it seemed that he was giving the 2/5 moreso because they were screens, not the actual content. Just my opinion though. Nevertheless the screens 2/5 were one aspect and he was quite impressed with the other parts of the ride so.

There are openings in the right wall of the witch room beneath the flame eyes?

EDIT: Just checked a good video and indeed there are! So, express will be able to peek into the room from the side. I had no idea of this. Nor did I know it was apparently the same on the left side... but only standby sees and hears that after they exit.

The backstage queue talk kills me. Do you want them to theme the employee break rooms too? How about the emergency exit signs? C'mon some of you, suspend your disbelief and be happy with the theming you have!
Actually most employee break rooms I've been in at UOR are themed...

I remember this as well, early scene breakdown mentioned an exit line scene.

Thanks! I just like to test my memory from time to time...but now I wonder if it was scrapped, if it may still come later, I just haven't seen anyone talk about, or maybe it was just a misunderstanding.

I think it is one of the main reasons I wanted to try and avoid spoilers for it would be neat to be shocked or surprised whenever I do get around to riding this.
