So you're saying it can't be "officially open" until Skull Island is added to the Universal App, right?

Did I say that anywhere?

Ok, the ride is full day so now I will tell you all one of the funniest screw-ups made during testing. Finally...

So, this may be hard to recall, but way way back when a themed vehicle first showed up outside it was without the canopy, then one day shortly after, it had the canopy, and shortly after that, it didn't have a canopy for the longest time.

Turns out, right after the canopy appeared they went to send the vehicle around the course and it came to a dead halt on the straight to the big doors. (sound familiar?) I guess that the engineers became very preoccupied trying to look at their computers trying to figure out why it stopped. After minutes and minutes had passed, someone ran in and told them all that it had begun to pour outside. I guess art directors began screaming about the canopy!

So, it was quickly decided to move the vehicle into the building out of the rain by manually overriding the system. Problem: In all the time they were trying to troubleshoot, the batteries had run dead and it wouldn't move!

So, the whole team of super smart engineers had to traunch outside in the pouring rain and push it into the building!

That's the story I have been promising for so long...

;)

Is this why they made the entrance that bypasses the outdoor portion?

That was for bad weather, thunderstorms etc. where normally a ride would need to be shut down (like Test Track gets shut down).

It had always been part of the design as MD implied. And BTW, traunch is a word that I made up today that sounded to me like walking-soggy. ;)

So that is the basis for the report we got of the vehicle being pushed into the building.

Does it lead to the high centering on the approach?

How about cutting off the front of the center part as you approach the gates>?

Did it kill any effects on the roof/canopy?

I want to milk you dry if you are in a giving mood but if not then "Oh, well" I am a patient soul

I never saw a post about it being physically pushed in and I always wondered why no one saw it. But probably.

Your other questions are beyond my scope.

However, they do have a portable charger for the vehicles. Problem was, they didn't want to toy with that in drenching rain. Go figure! ;)

I just hope that it hit some of you funny and informed you of the foibles of creating such a grand attraction. It caused me hysterics at the time. Snot was running out of my nose!
