Stage 28/Phantom Stage Replacement

Just so its known, something came out for TSLoP which could indicate some of the scenic areas that we'd see for New York..

I'll say this, one of the clips in the trailer has a senic environment that'd be interesting to see for this.

Well, it's later/mid January, and there is no progression in this location yet. I'm growing a bit concerned.

Maybe it will be a quick erection? We really don't know much about this rumored ride. So depending on when they want it open next year depends on how much time they will need to build it. If the ride will be more practical sets & animatronics, those would obviously be built off site & brought in. So it could be a rather quick install. -shrugs-

Its possible they want to get Potter completed first before moving onto another project. Obviously NOT-HoH will go into overdrive very soon. So I'd say expect work to begin on this project by next month at the earliest.

If "PETS" is not going to be built/open next year... I have to wonder what the hell Universal has planned for next year. I surely hope they have something big in the works for 2017 because once Potter opens in a few months, USH will be in need of another ride ....or twenty... to accomodate the crowds.

My thoughts were to support the closure of Mummy.  I felt that SLoP would need to open before closing RoTM and allow for the ride count to stay up for the coming years of heavy construction for the Lower Lot.

I agree that it seems the current construction is a little behind and they need to get this finished for Potter opening before they start on SLoP.  Who knows...some attractions have opened mid-late summer...or perhaps a winter 2017 opening???

I am starting to think that SLoP might be in the sound stages behind Transformers rather than being exactly on the Stage 28 plot.

Maybe some executive said "Let's wait until the film comes out and we see the reviews before we commit to green lighting to build an entire attraction for this." That's happened a lot at Disney. I know there were quite a few plans for Oz The Great and Powerful, along with other projects. But things like Oz and fluffy cute pets will be timeless regardless if the movie bombs or not, so i don't see a risk! Also, I'm sure the merchandise sales at USH/UOR will be pretty hot for SLOP toys and plushies. Again...it's cute pets! I think if it's hopefully still on the table that it will be a Winter 2017 soft opening.

I say we should get PETS incorporated into Animal Actors somehow... Which it honestly should, despite being animated. It'd breathe some new life into the show, not much, but if they were creative they could. Hell, they could do an animal trainer & -insert PETS character(s) here- videoscreen interaction between refreshed "tricks".

 

Something like that would do wonders for promoting the new movie this summer.

It would certainly be nice if the Monsters got a new ride/attraction instead.... and when you think about, THAT would probably be much faster to build. Of course, depsite the fact that I wish it would be built in the SS28 lot (where it belongs), a Monsters ride/attraction probably isn't on the table for this location....

Although there are rumors floating around here/there.

I've heard a few rumors about this as well.. honestly, if those rumors turn out to be true, I'll be over the silvery full moon that lights up the nighttime sky in Transylvania..

Would it be the SS28 lot or somewhere else? Could the ripping up of concrete behind Mummy be related to this Monsters rumor? Could we be getting an all new PETS concept where the owners dress up their pets as the classic universal monsters!?

Well I don't know what to say to you, but while ground work has been done they'd only have 18 months to build a two story building, install ride system, install AAs, test, adjust, and open.

Thanks. I'm just questioning 2017 not because I know it's not 217, but because I'm a skeptic and I'm looking at all the evidence and info.
