I'm not discrediting your friend, but it's obvious from the pictures that the ride system is different than the current boat rides. Maybe it won't be the system from Shanghai, but, just because your friend says something doesn't mean it's automatically gospel.

Personally I think we have more solid info pointing toward it being the system than not, but then again i'd think Disney would be making a bigger deal about it so I still think it may not utilize the system.

All I said is was they're not aware. That's all.

I like the ride. But I think it was a mistake for the general public and because of that Disney doesn't like it. I do not get motion sickness on anything, but I have to say the one time I did feel sick afterwards. I only remember because it shocked me. I mean I can do the stick to the wall rides without getting sick. Because it is something that people stopped riding for various reasons, there is no reason to duplicate it. Because they want rides that more people can ride, not less. They need capacity and they need people to line up to ride this ride.

That's pretty much my experience with it too but I can't tell if I was going to feel that way regardless. I never really get anxious before going on a ride but there were an abundance of signs before riding that I actually started to doubt if I wanted to do it or not.

Weirdly, the only other time I have ever felt anxious before going on a ride, was another DIsney ride. Mickey's Fun Wheel at DCA.

That's pretty much what happened. Big lunch, I didn't realise it swung back and forth and not long before I got on, somebody had been sick. It was only me and my wife so I realised we would have to share with another couple too. It brought about a small panic attack.

Maurer AG (previously Maurer Sohne) revealed their new bike coaster concepts at IAAPA and the first thing I thought of was a Speeder Bike coaster. The winged version is very unique and would lend itself perfectly to hover bikes. And I don't know what Disney could do with the touch screen, but it's nice to have

I know a coaster wasn't announced for SWL, but I know this concept has been thrown around for years and I love these trains

I'd love to know what you could do with a touch screen, other than something like the music selection on HRRR. Seems kind of silly otherwise.

Aren't they the company behind USF's HHR, with all the problems Universal and other parks have had with their rides wouldn't it be safe to assume Disney wouldn't want to go down that same road. Although, I too am a fan of the Speeder Bike coaster idea. I don't think Disney will ever clone the Light Cycle coaster (if they do it should be all indoor) since it sounds like between the Marvel movies and now the Star Wars films Disney has no interest in returning to the Grid. The Speeder Bike coaster sounds like the next best thing.

See that's not really a thing in the industry. Every manufacturer builds things that present challenges they need to over come. When you are in a business that constantly pushes what can be done technology wise, everyone understands that bumps in the road happen. Park management are more concerned about who bids a better price than a previous ride that took a little while to get up to 100%.

While that may be true of some parks, Cedar Fair has pretty much stopped using Intamin due to the delays and downtime you get with them. They'd rather pay B&M more money for a reliable ride. Actually, most parks in the US have kinda stayed away from Intamin for this very reason. So it is a thing in the industry. Downtime cost parks money.

How about a coaster/darkride like Gringots That you could choose what path it takes ? I admit the first choice that springs to mind is light/dark side of the force. Jedi/Sith

Knowing Disney, more like the JibJab-esque finale on SSE.

just found this its looks like some new info just came out.
The demolition project is code named “Delos” by Walt Disney Imagineering, certainly named after one of the most important mythological, historical and archaeological sites in Greece. And the actual construction phase of Star Wars Land has been code named “Atlantis”, another Greek reference. The two massive attraction show buildings being created for Star Wars Land should begin to be framed in by early 2017.

The Stormtrooper chase and escape ride, which is apparently codenamed Alcatraz internally, will feature “autonomous trackless vehicles and nearly every other techno marvel WDI can throw at it.” The show building for that ride will be constructed in the northwest corner of the new land blocking the views of Mickey & Friends parking lot. The Millennium Falcon flight attraction, codenamed “Big Bird”, will be housed in the second largest show building in the new land, which will be located on the northern perimeter of the new land.

considering the amount of money that this movie has made/will make, I really hope they go "all out" to respect that investment.

It's a rumored, pre-Star Tours attraction idea. No relation to what's coming to the land.

Looks like construction is about to begin.
Orlando Theme Park News: Disney's Hollywood Studios Expansion Officially Begins

The area between the Premier Theater and Muppets 3D where the Phineas and Ferb and Cars meet and greet is where construction is starting. This gives us a general idea of where the Star Wars Land is going.

Demo in that area could be done within a matter of weeks really. The whole area near Premiere is pretty barren.
