It just reminds me that I should be happy the attraction is returning and not being scrapped!  That day seems to be getting closer and closer each year.

For whatever reason, I can't help but get a chuckle at Jaws being out there all lonesome like. It's such a stark contrast to Disney, which I'm guessing would try to avoid such a public display at all costs.

Meanwhile, Universal literally has a fish out of water in the open for all to see.

"Here's our shark. It's fake, but I'm sure you knew that already."

Endearing in a way.

Here are some photos of the now demolished Mummy's Tomb from Jonathan:

Ok so we all know this but I wanted to share now that I know 100% and have received confirmation from several universal employes for starters I can officially confirm that fast and the furious is coming to the back lot where we all expect it next to falls lake. Springfield was smiled at when I mentioned and despicable me will soft open in march according to a ride operator from the ride

Mhmm :) I'm very excited for what USH is becoming. I share all these stories with my family and they're so pumped to visit.

I heard some off-the-wall rumor from a someone I know (Don't know his "source history" though) that this animation is supposed to be a step-up from Kong and not merely just Kong with another film. Apparently, they want the screen to cover your entire peripheral vision and have it go everywhere. We'll see if it comes to fruition.

It does seem that the new F&F attraction is getting some major attention.  The design must already be completed if they plan to build up soon.  I hear IOA Kong will also be different from 360 3D and I am wondering if these two attractions are anything similar in design?

HateToFly said that the IOA Kong is basically "Kongfrontation in the jungle" and there's both 4K screens and animatronics, along with a tour guide.

I'm really hoping F&F is more than just another version of Kong 360. Really, really hoping.

I'm totally expecting F&F 360-3D....no more, no less. I usually have a very wide imagination for this sort of stuff, but i cant think of what else they'd do. How else (if that's what they're going for) would they put the entire tram in a high speed F&F adventure and race along with the cars? Besides, we as guests already are holding on to those Kong 3D glasses. If it's just like Kong, you tell guests to hold onto the glasses till the end so they don't miss out on the 3D animation at the end, and less people will throw the glasses off the tram ;)

Although I'd love to be surprised and have it be more than what Kong is. That'd be fantastic.

I'm not really giving my hopes up. I think it'll just be F & F 360 3D. Creatively, there's not really much else you can do with it besides that.

If King Kong does really well over in Orlando, I'm hoping that they will do some sort of similar incarnation of it over here on the Studio Tour. It can't be Kong since we already have an abridged version of that over here. Maybe they could theme it to Jurassic Park if the new movie does well. That whole concept of a longer King Kong with animatronics and sets does sound really neat. The Studio Tour could really use an attraction like that.

Make it a whole park promotion: Jurassic Park: Summer of Survival with the new River Adventure and Studio Tour addition!

Logistically it would make the most sense for them to make it a 3D addition.

Here is my version of the layout I saw and if you notice, the Tour Animation does have a similar layout to Kong 360 with the room prior to the main theater for one tram to be on standby.  Although, there could be more to this area than just a staging area for a tram???

What do you think?

Yeah, I was wondering what the double room layout might entail when i saw it. With how it's split and how it looks, I would think that maybe

A. Maybe it's going to be a double drive through "show building" so that either more than one tram can experience the attraction if need be or one "side" can be open when the other is down? Probably not, considering they're attached.

B. There's two parts to the attraction. I really hope this is the case! That would be so awesome.

I don't think the first room is a standby room though, as it's too big to be just a standby room, the two different parts of the building are almost equal in size it seems.

This is just speculation on my part. My theory is that right before you enter the main show building of the F&F animation would be the new location for the picture cars. The old picture car location would become the site of a second tour animation.

^ that would be fantastic. I would totally like to see that. And it would put the picture cars out of the elements. Although I just want to see a longer tour animation than Kong. Everyone complains Kong is too short.

All tour attractions have to be short to keep tram movement and reset time.  Although nowadays, these are all video screens which don't need much reset time.  Classic attractions like Jaws and Earthquake need reset time factored in.
