It was the ride system and vehicle tires. Once they fixed the issues with the ride system, then the major problem was timing the ride vehicles. That was what took the longest. When they began testing they decided they would need 29 ride vehicle on the circuit to meet demands. When they started full circuit testing the ride program could only handle 6! It took months to reprogram the entire system each and every time they added another vehicle to the circuit. Once the programming was "complete" imagineers also noticed the tires weren't holding up to demand requiring numerous fixes to the track as well as testing numerous tires for durability. After that the ride was still prone to breakdowns from programming issues. Anytime a ride vehicle would pass a sensor at an incorrect speed, wrong time, or bad position it would make the ride come to complete stop. Then you would either have to EVAC everyone or cycle the cars through at a snails pace to unload everyone. After clearing passengers Starting the ride back up back then could take upwards of 90 minutes. This was also the cause of them holding off a grand opening for 4 months after softs started. In the end TT didn't grand open until March 99, nearly 2 full years after initially intended.

Wow what a mess. I get aggravated when I hook up my home audio and something isn't working right, that would have driven me insane if I was an imagineer lol

To this day the longest I've ever waited in a queue was for Test Track. It went down and I queued up around 60 mins before close. Management opened the queue up at closing and let us wait inside so they could decide who was waiting and who was walking up. I didn't leave the park that night without a ride and didn't return to my room until well after monorail and tram service had stopped. Think about that for a minute.

Now that's a long wait lol. If that would have web my first time on the ride I would have waited that long also. If it was a repeat ride I would have said forget it. I can't recall my longest wait. I know the first time I waited for Spidey the wait was outside and that queline outside was all full. I had a long wait at Splash also that I remember. Probably my longest would have been a HHN house on a peak night.

I was up in Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and the Studios yesterday. Had the chance to check out this area from the monorail, obviously the pics above are about what it looked yesterday. Construction zone yesterday atleast was pretty dead the few hours I was there

@Epcyclopedia posted a few photos of the construction from today. In the first photo is the beginning of what will probably end up as the new signage.

This certainly isn't getting the SS44 treatment. Perhaps the state DOT is doing the work.

I was skimming the comments and number 12 jumped out at me. What does Jennifer mean by "allow"? Is it the, 'we give you the option to merge at the preshow or just keep on going' "allow", or the, 'the queue lines lead right to the station so tough cookies for you and your "creative expression"' "allow"? I don't know, but it seems like it would be somewhat counter-productive to make the ride revolve around the idea that you just created your own car, then not let half of the riders create their own car.

My understanding is that FP & Single Riders will not have the option of designing their own car; they'll be given a 'standard' model they'll compare to the SimCar.

As for my knowledge about the opening date, I still don't know if the ride portion will open on Dec 6th, but I am looking up crow recipes right now.

It reads to me that fastpass and single riders can skip the car process if they want but don't have to. It looks like they will have a chance to merge with the regular queue or take the expedition queue around it.

It could just be some sort of construction scrim, but it's too early to tell.
