Did something delay them? Everything I've heard keeps pointing to December 1, 2012. If it is looking like an additional four-five months, I wonder if something slowed them down.

I think more might be done than originally thought.

That wouldn't be such a bad thing. Though, the execs probably won't be happy with the decrease attraction capacity during Christmas and the lowered attendance counts.

Epcot's fallback during christmas is that they add new shows or something holiday related in almost every country for people to do. The lack of Test Track will be felt, but there is more there. And I wonder when Disney is going to announce the delay. My estimate would be sometime after most of the Holiday season booking has ended.

I'm pretty convinced a Test Track "experience" will be open by Thanksgiving at the earliest.

Also good to note: Soarin' stays open until around 10pm during a 9pm park closing. How do I know this? My party happened to be the last guests the other night at 10pm. The wait time also plummets to 0-20mins after Illuminations.

There will be a live chat about the new Test Track with Imagineer Melissa Jeselnick on August 27 at 1:15. You can leave some questions on the page to be answered.

Questions we want to know: When will it open? (Answer: Not soon) What kind of additions will be made to the car? What will be new in the post show?

Questions they'll answer: WILL THERE BE ON RIDE PHOTOS AGAIN?!?! WHAT KIND OF MAGIC WILL BE IN THE ATTRACTION NOW?

Yup. It'll be just as worthless as the FLE chat.

I imagine we will get some kind of insight into the process and interesting tidbits. But, nothing major.

Here's a recap of some of the questions that were answered during today's Live Q&A. (I think I saw a JungleSkip question...)

The queue, the whole attraction is completely reimagined. The queue will look like nothing our guests are used to seeing it look. We'll use the space to introduce guests to Chevrolet’s Automotive Design process - how it starts with a line and ends with the cars you can buy on the showroom floor. We'll have actual items, sketches, cars, models from GM that have never been seen before by anyone outside the Chevrolet family. It's basically changing from testing to design.

Let's talk about the Design Studios. In the studio, you have a chance to design your own custom concept vehicle. That design follows you into the ride, which is still the same physical ride that our guests know and love. You'll ride in our sim car. As you move through the space, your custom design will be scored in areas such as Capability, Efficiency, Responsiveness and Speed.

Yes, it's still the same track layout that we know and love.

The new attraction will be sponsored by Chevrolet. It's been great working with the dedicated Chevrolet team members and as Imagineers, we've learned a lot. They're really integrated members of our creative team. It's not Disney's creative take on Chevrolet; it's a real partnership.

It's an interactive design kiosk, so in the full experience you can start from a line, then shape your vehicle and add attributes - pick the colors, the tires, and make it truly your dream vehicle. Everybody in the vehicle will have their ride design, whether they designed individually or as a group. As you move through the four groups, you'll see how the design stacked up against the sim car design.

It will be done in late fall.

It will be futuristic. We'll have a whole new soundtrack that will not only compliment the attraction with music, but special sound effects too.

Let's talk about the four show scenes in more detail. Capability is where your car is tested for rough road and weather conditions. Efficiency tests your car design's environmental footprint. The Responsiveness phase tests maneuverability, and finally, Speed is tested.

The whole automotive design process has evolved since Test Track opened and things have moved into the digital realm, and the same has been true for WDI's design process. It updates the automotive story to reflect what is happening today.

We talk a lot about being in the digital space, but it's still a physical experience. We're using a lot of new technology to tell the story, but it is still a dynamic physical experience.

Thanks BriMan! And I do like the sign, but what the hell do hovercopters have to do with any of this?

Sign *typo edit* looks awesome, but I don't know what the hell is that thing onto of it. Am I missing something? Maybe you have to see it from 'eye-level' to understand it?

Anyway, nothing new really IMHO. Good to hear confirmation that the pre-show will feature 'interactive kiosks' (probably similar to Sum of all Thrills). Also interesting to hear that everyone's car will be tested against the 'simcar' you are riding, so you are either better or worse than it. Interesting twist.

They're really staying away from questions about the canopy, but I cannot see that being removed. I think WDI wants it gone, but ops/management wants it to reduce guest complaints about standing in the sun and to provide the company mandated shade for CMs.

I like the sign. The sculpture on top I believe represents the ever-changing molds of cars, and it's representative of what Chevrolet is trying to do. Whether or not this revamp is that is still too early to tell, but from what we've seen, it's pretty much on track. ()

As long as GM are project/budget managers, this just might come in under projections. I would love to see an imagineer being told, "No, that 500 gallons of Blue Z53987683RD is just fine... we aren't repainting it with a 'light overspray of crimson T84349s055GS'."

Since this is one of the very, very, very few attractions that I care about in WDW, I am really excited about the Test Track redo. After this, they better "re-imagine" the rest of Epcot. It can use some work, outside of World Showcase.
