Seeing one episode of Luke and Ashoka together training Grogu, Order 66 flashback, and a chilling entrance from Cad Bane made me forget this was a Boba Fett show and not Mandalorian. Also I don’t know where this is coming from, but apparently I’m hearing that with The Mandalorian, it’s possible we might be getting an SW alternate timeline, similar to how Mobile Suit Gundam does it. Again don’t quote me on that, but maybe perhaps I’m just hearing wishful thinking?

If they do an alternative timeline. Lucasfilm has a story group keeping everything in lockstep for continuity (BoBF brought in a droid from a game, a wookie from the comics and a character from a cartoon new to live action), but we also have an indistinct number of years where this takes place post ROTJ all the way up to TFA.

I almost wished they called it The Mandalorian: The Book of Boba Fett to at least allow us to expect it will be so connected, or something up. Because this is certainly not an independent miniseries, not that it ever was.

This is just my tinfoil hat theory, but because I’ve been noticing that for a show about Boba Fett, Din Djarin and Grogu have been getting a lot more attention and praise over Boba Fett (A shame honestly, I was hoping the series would be his time to shine). With Luke giving him a choice whether to stay with Mando or continue training as a Jedi, Grogu is probably going choose both, but Luke doesn’t mind since it’s ACTUALLY a test to see if Grogu has the heart for it, and will continue to train him and have him reunite with Mando, creating the possibility that Grogu will become the first Mandalorian Jedi in years. Once that’s done, this is where the new alternate timeline begins, and Disney tries to push both Mando and Grogu as the new face for the alternate Star Wars timeline.

What this show has shown to me is that there's something extremely special about The Mandalorian I was snoozing my way through the front half of this season and now these past two episodes have been perfection and i'm fairly sure Boba hasn't said a single word between the two episodes. I don't care whatsoever that the show is all of a sudden The Mandalorian 2.5 because it's great TV.

The only thing that stuck out to me as a bit off was Luke's voice.

Ok...so I love the mando stuff....but wrong Fing show....literally who ever edited together this story, I hope no longer gets to try this format.
First its here is the plot then flash back..then back for a little to the real story then back...and fourth and so on...then we get a whole Mando episode then more Boba and then back to Mando....like why?

Disney Plus could have had 6 Boba Episodes and set up Cad Bane more, done more back story on the biker gang, Finnic, Krrsantan...someone who is connected to this story. Then have one week where their is a Mando hour and 20 min Special and that sets up Mando season 3 and also connects the two shows...and bam you get to tell the same story but in a way that makes sense and isn't jumping back and fourth. It would like in The Phantom Menace if Maul opens the door and they are all about to fight...and we jump to pod racing for an hour

I just they had more faith in Boba and gave him more of his own story and set up the villains better and side characters. Just not a fan of the editing and story telling style but like the content

I doubt Grogu will make the choice in the next episode, but you realize that if Grogu chooses the saber, he will be Luke's first student.....and Kylo Ren no longer would be. If that's the case, I doubt that is an unintentional "plot hole."

So I was thinking about it and I don't think they should've ever made a Boba Fett show. The smarter thing to do imo would've been to increase the episode count to 12 or 14 for Season 3 of The Mandalorian and then do what Netflix has been increasingly doing and just did with Ozark and release Season 3 in parts. They could've done 6-7 weeks of episodes for S3, Part 1 now, ended on a massive cliffhanger, and then come back around either later this year or early 2023 and dropped the last 6-7 episodes over another 6-7 weeks.

That would've basically split it up into two seasons, but it's also not doing a bait and switch on the audience and going two consecutive episodes without Boba saying a word, which wouldn't have even been a big issue since it wouldn't have been Boba's show anyway.

See this is the thing you can make a show out of a No one character

Look at Peacemaker...that show rocks and is about some here no one cared about

The reason this show isn't clicking is because of bad editing (the flashback episodes should have just been one long episode to start us off and then moved to the current time line)
They needed to then set up the villains, the current "main" bad guy literally worked and was trained by Jango...we could have had such amazing flashbacks or him talking about it...but noooooo gotta just throw a villain in second to last episode because of rememberberries.

You do the flash backs first...then main plot and then had a week where we had a Mando special that set up the next season of Mando and showed how he got his new ship and then you finish a badass show...but no they had to do lots of cutaways. It's not the story that is wrong its how they told this story. I want to know more about the biker gang, Fynnc, The monster master, Krrsantan, The Pikes, the bar owner hell even the gumorain guards (where do they train....were do they come from). This is ignoring the fact Boba didn't even reach out to his old bounty gang for help.

The show should be its own kinda amazing but they care too much about Mando and are ruining the flow of the show (also the mando stuff is amazing but its the wrong show)

I'm gonna actually let the villain slide, as I doubt they'd kill them off this quick. Especially as, Moff had a similar aspect of debuting in the penultimate episode prior to the finale of S1. The villain has also had more than enough development time, with his character featured in multiple other projects as it is (they don't need to spend a lot with him).

The problem is and fully has been, pacing and editing. And I very much agree that they should've trimmed the flashbacks down (but perhaps to two episodes instead of one. It's still a lot to cover). I also don't mind them jumping to different characters at a time, but it should've been something more properly handled right from the get-go.

Once again if Peacekeeper and these other low tier Marvel characters can be cool so can Boba, a story about Fett wanting revenge on the Pykes could be cool if it was the focus.

To say a story that "should" not be told can't be told is untrue. No one wanted Clone Wars or Rebels and are now loved...people didnt want a bad batch show but now we have a season 2, Rogue One should not have been made but is the best made SW movie Disney has made.
I understand this show as is is a mixed bag but thats because of them focusing on Mando.....I want to know more about the side characters and villains. If we got that with better editing the show would work.

Honestly, a big part of my issue is that we're basically seeing AARP Fett here and it just doesn't click with me even in the first four episodes because they did a major thing wrong. They said in interviews leading up to the show something to the effect that we were going to see Boba as a badass pretty much. He's been far from it in this show and he's barely been in any action scenes in the entire series.

Also season 2 of Mando was way better than season 1, not sure how it went over the top.

I have a feeling we're going to see both Qi'ra AND Han in the finale, but I hope they do Han right as in, let's pull another deepfake. Maybe Alden Ehrenreich can be a body double, but in an ideal world, with the technology we have now, they would make Han look like Harrison Ford did shortly after ROTJ.

So, after ruining Fett, they now ruin Luke? Luke?!?

Luke was the Jedi Knight that made us realize that the dogma was too strict. He disobeyed Yoda and force-ghost Ben to save his friends in Cloud City. Lightsaber or beskar chain-mail is BS. He is the one that proved you can do both!

Maybe he learned more? After he did not kill his father?

I hope Grogu gets both and is a MandoJedi, which is what this world, and Tatooine, need at this point. :grin:

I think it's a test to see how dedicated he is and he'll let him have both anyway. Like Luke said, he doesn't feel like he's teaching him as much as Grogu is just remembering from his prior teachings (probably from Yoda and Mace Windu) prior to Order 66. Someone clearly came to save him during the Jedi purge and I have a feeling it was Mace.

I really hope we get more Grogu flashbacks because that was huge in terms of filling in part of Grogu's backstory.
