So, I’ve been having a conversation with [someone] about the event’s lore, and I think it provides a different direction for speculation. I’m going to just copy paste some of my side of the conversation.

Please note - I do not know if there is an Icon house or not. This discussion is assuming there may be one.

here’s something else to consider: storyteller’s main role, despite being extremely rushed, was really touted to be the person to “bring” the story of terra cruentus to life. would it be a stretch to take that literally, that storyteller has the ability to make terra cruentus a physical reality?

Isn’t that what I’m saying?

Terra Queen can’t “present” the icons. The Storyteller or Fear have to present her.

lol KKFOS was filled with that smell. I actually remember KKFOS when smelling the smell of plywood and paint than popcorn and cotton candy like you would expect.

I’m expecting the Storyteller to have a transition room with her stating “After 15 years she has returned” before a Terra Cruentus room and maybe that’s how the lore is established.

Its been awhile since I've commented in an HHN speculation thread, but I'm a little confused now about the Terra Queen. I was under the impression that she manifests every 15 years? Maybe I'm not remembering it right, but I thought that was talked about in one of the forums... I could be wrong...

But still, would she even need The Storyteller or Fear? I can see that if they wanted to bring the storybook version of Terra Queen that The Storyteller summoned back during HHN 15. Maybe this is a different/ancient incarnation of the Terra Queen?

This all makes sense to me

Personally, I didn't hate the FEAR idea and concept...It felt a little underwhelming in park though

As for Tales of Terror...I picture a scene where the Storyteller is reading the story to us in a house of some kind

Then we are transported to Terra Cruentas for a scene or two and then back out to carry on with the rest of the house

Then FEAR has a big scare at the very end

I do have to wonder how the team feels about FEAR though

Saw this after I posted (this thread is hard to keep up with)

Essentially what I was thinking with the transition room.

I think the squeezy walls are out for this year, but perhaps two spinning tunnels

They only own one vortex and there’s no reason to purchase a second one if it’s only getting used for one year.

Those vortex tunnels make me super motion sick, I hope they never use them again!

Busch Gardens has two, step it up Universal

Seriously though, I was simply speculating on how we could do transitions to Terra Cruentas. It could honestly be a black curtain haha

I'd prefer they don't use it this year since it makes people imbalanced and they have a tendency to grab rails, making that area unnecessarily "high touch," which is what they're actively trying to avoid.

Yup. Used to be incredibly common. 1999-2002, 2004, 2006-2013, 2015-2016 all had a house with one.

Busch Gardens still does every year for Howl-o-Scream. It was very common at HHN until they got enamored with effects driven houses around 26-27.

Didn't go that year, but 22 (ironically--since it's such a disliked year overall) probably had the coolest use of the vortex tunnel, where it was hidden by scrim walls in Dead End.

That actually kinda amazes me because of the whole conga line thing. Feel like people would slow down or stop in the middle of them and hold the line up
