I understand there is a Butter Beer mug you can buy and have it refilled. Is there a mug for Pumpkin Juice too? Or did I read it was a little plastic cup with no handle?

Those prices are rediculous for a drink. I'll try it once, reluctantly, but if they don't lower the price I'll stick to water.

$8.50/$9.50 is for a refillable cup. You can purchase Butterbeer in a non-refillable cup for a cheaper price.

there are different prices for frozen/non-frozen. Frozen being higher we paid $7.00 for 2 frozen at the cart. and $9 something at the bar which was a larger 16oz cup.

have gotten the AP discount every where except the carts and the bar. The Premier discount at 3 broomsticks was $5.40 for two breakfasts.

Don't get me wrong Tom Felton IS Draco Malfoy, however Waltz's performance was just incredible.

They both played puppets of a dark idea. Neither were dark humans... just angry people. So, who was most evil is really not true at all in either case. Both were an odd choice in my opinion for this award. Tom should have won for most broken human being if anything. And it is a tough game to play broken as an actor and follow it through for 10 years.

Yeah. It's gone up $1 so far and changes to the island are being made daily.

To be exact, "Price of Butterbeer being adjusted daily. Earlier in week was $8.50 & 2.50 refills, today was $9.50 & 3.25 (nonfrozen)"

However, "According to second hand reports, Butterbeer refills were only $2.50 today."

I hope they don't jack up the price of butter beer any more, but it's not like we can do anything; it's the only place that has it.

Thanks for the links Gambit! Was anyone in California able to watch the special? I turned on NBC at 7 which my TV guide told me to do and it was hockey. Then my satellite tv guide told me 10 'o clock and I got Dateline NBC.

The trailer was amazing. I did use the quote "I just died" last night. The dragon I can't wait to see! I was hoping it would be in the first movie. I figure that would be a good place to end it.

Tom Felton was brilliant last night! I voted for him many times and I'm glad to see that he won.

To keep on topic, I wonder if Uni will be bringing in more merch as the 2 movies are released. Maybe they will see the need for this thing or that and add.

i know... i was hoping that this special would go into the depth of that about the fj ride. So i was very very disappointed.... i can only hope they eventually will do another program on the making of the ride!

just finished watch the special

It wasnt that bad.

I know there wasnt too much FJ, but thats for the travel channel special.

NO attraction specials EVER, have did the behind the scene before is open.
It is always teaser.

the real stuff will come AFTER the ride is officially opened.

I like it tho.
Especially the CG run thru in the very end of all the preshow rooms.

One thing I noticed in the CG preshow room was that
in Dumbledores office, his fireplace was burning.

In the real Office, did the fireplace light up??

I was really disappointed that in the common room, the fireplace was just dark and not burning
like it is suppose to be. That would have been really atmosphereic and realistic.
but it just seems like THEY turned off the fireplace because they dont want
muggles to get warm. strange.

other than that, those high crane and tracking shots of the real castle from the air are awesome!
almost like CG

I guess I am with the minority on here :-)

I liked it for what it is... This "special" was nothing but the start of a gigantic advertisement for the new World prior the Grand Opening...
And it was OK and I really liked it!

I didn´t really expect them to give us details about the "secrets" of the FJ prior the GO, do you???

OK, sorry for some dumb questions, but being a Muggle, I would love to have some answers :-)

Firstly:
Is it confirmed, that there are 3 differnent queue lines in the casle? Yes, I know they are THERE, but is it confirmed that they plan to use them after GO?
We booked a room at the PBH and they told us a few month ago, that we could use the express queues as normal but only ONCE at FJ (but at least ONCE!)

On the other hand, did someone who has been recently (or goes today to ask :-)) ask a TM some questions???
Like someone else mentioned, I too would like to know how deep they are into their rolls??
What would they say if you ask them about the history of the casle?
If they have seen Dumbledore or Harry lately?
What would the respond if you ask for a coke??? Hopefully they ask you WHAT a coke IS... and not like "no sir, you´ll have to go to Jurassic Park or the Lost Continent to get one...
Maybe I am too perfectionistic but hey, that is what I love at Disney and I guess that they are well trained too, right??

I am sure I have more q´s but can´t remember right now... Will be back soon :-)))

I just wanted to jump in here and say "Thanks" to so many who contributed to this discussion for the last 3 years. It has been such a fun experience. Once people starting getting in and posting reports, I kind of dropped out because I knew I would be going too soon to spoil it. I went Sunday morning (as a hotel guest) and have my brief thoughts to share:

You know how you can just go to Epcot's World Showcase and do nothing? You could just browse and sit all day and have a great time? That is how well I feel they have done this island. I would (and will) go there just to get a butterbeer and sit in Hogsmeade. I am not a big HP fan, but the area is just amazing and immersive. It is small, both in overall footprint and the shops... but it makes it feel that much more like exactly what they tried to create. You are visiting a town you have never been to before, not a recreation of a small town in a theme park. Is that really smart for business? I don't know, but it is exactly what they were going for and they did it perfectly.

Some things are outrageous, like any theme park. $10 for a chocolate frog, really? If it was $6.95 I would have considered it overpriced but MAYBE bought one.
However, butterbeer is great and you get change back from $3.

Ollivanders Wand Shop.
For a show where only one person in the group get to do this, it works. The shopkeeper makes a big difference here. We ended up going in here 3 times and would have gone in more. It is entertaining, and the detail inside the shop (including dust on the boxes) is worth seeing alone.

Forbidden Journey.
You already know about the queue. Everything you already heard is true.
I thought to myself, "if this wasn't in a theme park they could charge admission just to walk through here".

The ride is nothing short of amazing. The detail, the effects, the movement, but most of all the smoothness. It turns quickly, whips around, tips, etc. but the movement is never scary or frightening. Nothing like a roller coaster, just a somewhat out of control flight through show scenes.

I wanted to think it would be the new top attraction anywhere (over Spiderman) and maybe overtime it will grow on me as one ride isn't enough to judge, but I still feel overall Spiderman is better because it has one consistent and easy to follow storyline. Forbidden Journey only has a somewhat forced together series of events that aren't really one story, but a bunch of scenes. (Nonetheless completely amazing scenes)

However, people in my party did disagree and say FJ topped Spiderman. I think it will come down to each experience. I also think some seats are better than others and I was in the worst one (far right).

My real complaint (if there is one to be made) is the serious downgrade to Dueling Dragons. They queue for this attraction was stripped down to almost nothing. So sad because it was once a very highly themed queue and now is a quickly thrown together mess. It looks like the Dragon Challenge had no budget whatsoever. (The coasters are still fun and I suppose that is what they cared about here).

Overall, this will be the greatest thing at Islands of Adventure for a very long time. It's location in the back center of the park is perfect for them, and I can pretty much guarantee you that I will not be hanging out in the expanded Fantasyland ever when the Wizarding World is just down the road.

A+ Universal. You did it.

it is so true about the low bugetness of DD makeover.

I keep wondering how a large section of the queue are not themed.
I dont know the true story behind it (no money or whatever the case is)

if DC is suppse to be a exhibit style walkthru, then make it more so.

I know there is only a few "elements" of the triwizards,
i mean it already DONT make any sense for the TENT to be in the castle to begin with.

Why dont they just keep it going, might as well, built a
indoor garden maze (like in the end of the tournament)

at barely any cost, just alot of fake leaves and vines.
cover it all over the place (the walls), add some horror like show lighting.
make it like you are going thru the maze like harry.

BOOM, empty area problem solved. (is not the original DD) atleast
better than emptiness of Nothing but walls.

why not? right?
the maze. if it is too boring, add some sound effects here and there.
and air blowers for immersion. cost is cheap like hell.

I just thought that what I would do if I was working on it.
Emptiness is such a big nono rule, in any themed enviorment.

I hope they will enhance it someday.
Maze or whatever, mer-people, whatever, even it makes no sense.
Fill it up!
