I don't know if this has been noted but the Floo Network now smells like a fireplace. It's pretty awesome. Great little detail.

That is so neat! Will really be looking forward to this new detail on my next visit. :smiley:

On a slightly different note, does anyone know if there is anything special going on for the one-year anniversary of the opening of WWoHP? I have heard about pin for AP holders, which sounds nice!

I went on June 14th, and I'm pretty sure it was there a week later when I went again (oh those waiting times... *shudder*), but I do remember it... Maybe they tested it and then just took it off until now? *gasp* What if this means anything for the dementors?!

The beginning of Forbidden Journey. When Hermione says, "One, two, three.. observatory." So then we are whizzed to the top of the Astronomy tower through the fireplace.
Although, I think it's a design flaw because there are is no Floo Network fireplace in the observatory..

It's the very first screen scene on the ride. Hermione uses the floo powder on our car on the loading platform and we then see the poof of smoke and travel through the fireplace to the observatory.

I think I remember reading a wiki somwhere that stated only the head master, and the head of houses' had fireplaces connected to the floo network... but Jo approved so it must not have been that important.

Mm, wrong quote there, Hermione says, "Alright, say 'observatory' on three... One, two, three!", and I'm pretty sure that the fireplace isn't a design flaw; it simply isn't entirely canon, so it doesn't really matter.

I think I remember reading a wiki somwhere that stated only the head master, and the head of houses' had fireplaces connected to the floo network... but Jo approved so it must not have been that important.

This couldn't be true because Sirius used the Gryffindor Common Room's fireplace to talk to Harry, Ron, and Hermione in the 4th and 5th books...
Personally, I try to take all logistics out of the park. I think of it as my own story, my own novel in the HP world, if you will. Because if you try to make it cannonly correct then you'd run into all kinds of problems...

On another note, after months of "maybe", "don't ask", "grins", I finally got a confirm that something specific is going on regarding expansion. Problem is, it is very specific... therefore I can't say what it is; can't even play hintsy with it. Too few people know at this point and it would be pointing out one of the teams. So, I must shut up, even though all that I got were a few threads in a bedspread. Big picture I have no idea where things are going. Please know that there are no hints in this post at all so do not look for any.

While I have no idea what Teebin is talking about, I do know that Forbidden Journey may be getting another moving portrait that is going in the common room that further explains what the ride does, and to make another warning about motion sickness. Apparently the puking all over the ride and moving belt have become kind of ridiculous now.
