I wish ET would stay in Florida and that they just move the entrance to make it part of...well, whatever "land" Shrek is part of over there. Production Central, is it?

As for us losing the Mummy? Well, the only negative of that would be that the park needs a Coaster....although, I guess they could always replace it with a coaster or something similar

Personally speaking though, I hope they utilize the other new expansion pads first before they touch Mummy.

I've never been, so I'm not familiar with the layout, locations, etc. I just know that a lot of Orlando fans have suggested that moving/rerouting the ET entrance would be possible.

Ah, thanks for that! I mean, looking at that, they COULD probably reroute it through that alley between Cafe Labamba and ET, etc. It wouldn't be impossible, but I can see why it would be impractical.

Production Central is literally located on the other side of the park. That's like relocating WaterWorld to Simpsons Plaza. It's not possible unless you want to dig a tunnel underground.

Which again is why I said that I'm sure it's impractical, this is coming from someone who hasn't been to the park. In a perfect world, I'd like to see them keep ET somehow.

I'm hoping its a little bit of start to making the area feel more cohesive to Universal Plaza but I doubt it.

I don't know what forum this should go in but wanted to let people know there is no apparent progress on hotel site.  However, what is that facade structure thing?  Is it being prepped for installation elsewhere?

I am going to take a guess, Could it be some sort of testing for the facades of HOH?

I still don't see how they will fit a hotel in that tiny area. Unless they make it really tall and skinny.

I believe the Hotel will somewhat be built off the side of the hill. It'll have more space than it looks because of the widening of the Lankershim hill.

Here's one of those odd construction things that I notice but can't explain.  Look at the new parking structure.  See how the "windows" are getting aluminum framing put into them?  Why?  Do you think they have to wall off this side to minimize sound leaking over to the neighbors?  Or for eventual camouflage?

I was talking to one of my leads today about Nintendo. According to what he said, it will be going on the lower lot and four or five soundstages will be going bye-bye. Since this hasn't been announced yet by the company, take it with a grain of salt.

I would see this happening. This would lead to a much needed expansion of the lower lot and would help decrease the bottlneck in this area.

So...Mummy is down and Transformers is having a lot if issues today (First elevator scene glitching, greenish screens, and one elevator working). Yeeesh.

For those wondering, the wheelchair and stroller rental spot has been temporarily relocated to the seating area nestled between the backside of Cartooniversal and the old Gibson Amphitheater entrance.
