Your whole set was great photos.  Thanks.  Regarding the above photos specifically, when I was there on Wednesday they were marking out the job.  I was surprised that they cut the pavers rather than just lift them out.  I hope they're going to redo this pavement area otherwise it's going to look quite sloppy.  The below pics are from January 20.

Did you, by any chance, take the Lankershim shuttle up to the park? I take the train to the park every friday and take the guest shuttle up to the park (the employee shuttle doesn't run as frequently) and I noticed that there is now something I've never heard in my years of going there, a pre-recorded safety spiel on the shuttle.

I was able to record the second half of the Lankershim station departing spiel and the full park departing spiel. The first one is kind of hard to hear but you can clearly hear the second one.

This also must be a fairly new addition as I didn't hear it last friday.

That spiel has been there for years. It just doesn't work consistently, for whatever reason.

I rarely take the tram since I have maintained a premium star pass in recent years.  I don't recall the recording but I probably wouldn't recall that sort of thing.  Warning messages are so ubiquitous these days I would be surprised if safety instructions have not been included since any corporate lawyer would advise that the message shields company against most complaints.  If a guest's dangling arm gets bumped by a passing SUV's sideview mirror it allows Universal to say "not our fault, we told you to keep everything inside vehicle."  Some people will sue over anything.

My last pass expires end of February so without free parking I'll be taking Metro and the shuttle most times after that.  The time commitment required will reduce the frequency of my visits.  Then again, I'm drooling at the thought of hot butterbeer so we'll see what happens.

Universals ticketing website is scheduled to go down for maintenance from 9pm to 12am on the 27th.

I'm guessing that is when they will fully implement their dynamic pricing structure.

Hasn't it already been fully implemented? It asks you what day you plan to visit to give you the price.

I think you're looking at the mobile site. The desktop version has had the flex pricing structures in place for a bit now.

OF COURSE.... and my damn AP expires Feb 11th!!!  *flips table*

However, this is technically a good sign that USH's pricing seems to be affecting them. I have a feeling we could see more blackout dates lifted if the crowds keep dwindling. Potter being open will be the real test of this theory of course.

That lady looks like she wants to punch you. Lol.

It's understandable why she has the balloon though. She's clearly on vacation, she probably hit Disneyland the day before and today was universal day. The same thing happens with minion wear in Disney. I've also seen tons of people still wearing their magic bands in Orlando.

YAY!!!!!! That was the one thing missing from Grinchmas this year that I would always see at least once during Macy's at Universal Orlando. It is one of those great     moments. haha.

That's actually pretty impressive when you think about it. Not many people can keep a balloon alive more than one day, let alone transport it 45 miles the next day at a different park.

I agree, that's actually hilarious and impressive. I've never been able to keep a balloon for that long. Props to Disneyland for their sturdy balloons!

I actually enjoying seeing guests wear their Disney shirts/merch to Universal and vice versa, especially in California. It's a nice way to see which guests visit both parks! It's also amusing seeing the team/cast members having some lighthearted fun at the expense of the shirts/merchandise of the "other" park. It's all in good fun here in SoCal, unlike what I've heard from Orlando, where they're stronger competitors.
