I am super excited for this. Nintendo is huge, and I mean huge. Anyone that says it's for kids is not a true gamer and hasn't been around for the amount of excitement that their recent titles generated. I mean imagine an entire land themed to Mario and having a Zelda dark ride. An interactive Mario Kart with real Karts but with the technology to drop bananas, red shells, green shells and the freaking blue shell of death. Having your kart spin when someone steps on a banana. Meeting Mario and Luigi. Having a Yoshi land ride or something with Yoshi. I mean I am more excited by this than for Potter, coming from a huge Potter fan. I can't wait...

I am so super stoked about the nintendo universal partnership! I've always imagined a metroid ride using the amazing spider-man/transformers ride vehicles...GAAAHHH the POSSIBILITIES *head explodes*

I just hope Universal doesn't treat this new IP like they did with Crash or Spyro and just keep Mario, Link and the rest of the gang solely as meet and greet characters

I really hope in the future; we'd get a full blown Zelda themed dark ride because of this. This decade is the Biggest decade for Universal, even feeling like its one of the Gold eras of Disney theme parks. Having attractions come left and right all through the brand but with so many stories to tell. Nintendo and Universal will do extreme wonders together and i'm getting giddy with what they can do.

For IOA: Yoshi's Island. Boom, it's perfect, ready, and fits Island theme. Anyone who has played any Mario or Yoshi game knows that the colorful and magical world of the games is just begging to be a theme park attraction.

They could also make an entire "Mushroom Kingdom" land themed to the video games starring Mario. This would eliminate the likelihood of other Nintendo characters, but there's still quite a lot of potential there.

There are so many things I would love for Universal to tackle... Ideally I think Mario Kart would work great. Not only is it begging to be a ride but Mario Kart 8 has branched out to include other Nintendo I.Ps like Legend of Zelda, F-Zero, and Animal Crossing. (I also think Nintendo announced more DLC is on the way for that game to include other characters and tracks) It's basically Super Smash Bros. now but without the hand-to-hand fighting. They would have Mario as the title character but also have a way to explore Nintendo's other characters. Is it weird that I'm most excited to hear Nintendo's music play at a Theme Park? If there is one thing Nintendo does better than anyone is their phenomenal compositions.

Correct, and from my understanding most of what will come (to Orlando) will consist of attraction overlays/rethemed

I don't think that's right. Nintendo is noctiously picky about their intelelctual property. Do you really think they'd settle for a simple retheme?

Here's my predictions:

Japan: Nintendo second gate, opens 2020 - 2022

Orlando: Kidzone and MIB is replaced by a Nintendo-themed area, which includes both attractions from Japan and new ones. Guessing the shared ones will be either Mario Kart or Zelda themed. Also opens 2020 to 2022.

Hollywood: Going to be bold here and predict that we get the first Nintendo attraction between 2018 and 2020.

Of course these are just predictions. I'm fairly confident that Universal will deliver a Mario Kart attraction. They know to give the people what they want and that's the most talked about possibility being thrown around the internet currently. They know.

Oh please a Zelda dark ride would be so cool.

I can see them coming up with "Metroid Blasters", some kind of MIB/Buzz Lightyear ride where people have to fire at aliens from the Metroid games.

A Mario Kart ride in the style of dodgem cars.

To quote the year predictions; I'll go at this.

2018 - USF will be the first to get it as from what Parkscope said on the OU forums; this is the thing they went after for when the Kidszone replacement rumors occurred.

2019 - Universal Studios Hollywood will get a mini-land in the Lower Lot.

2020/2021 - USJ's Second park gets a large influence of Nintendo. That's for certain there.

If we're getting Nintendo, I think the best place to put it is where the CSI stages are. A Mario Cart themed ride sounds like it'll certainly happen, a Zelda dark ride would be amazing, and I'm thinking if an indoor coaster themed to either Metroid or Sonic.

That's a decent plot of land to work with if those Soundstages come down.

I hope Nintendo gets to use more ip's instead of just the obvious Mario attraction. I would like to see an F-Zero or Star Fox ride but I doubt those would happen, but I'm good with any ride or attraction that would come out. Dark ride, simulation, roller coaster, whichever will still be fantastic.

I think whatever time Disney will announce their Star Wars and Marvel additions to open will be the time USH will want the Nintendo properties open. This would be the IP to combat against Star Wars.

Also, I think they will probably use a bit more than the CSI stages. This is big enough to where I could see the stages behind them leaving as well.

Employee cafeteria looks closer to done.  Does that look like outdoor seating to you?

Take 5 always had outdoor seating so that wouldn't surprise me.

My thoughts are USF and USH will get Nintendo at the same time.

2016 - Kong at IOA

2017 - Nintendo USF Kid Zone and USH Stage 22-25

The only thing which makes me pause would be the fact that ET and Revenge of the Mummy have identical building scales.  If Kids Zone in Orlando removes ET, it will happen very soon and that would also mean that Mummy at USH would have to close soon.  In order for this to happen, we would see movement quickly for a Nintendo overlay in those buildings.  If ET remains throughout the Nintendo change, then I suspect Mummy will stay a little longer as well.

As far for ET goes; don't expect it to stay due to this new bond. Mummy I think is for another project outside of Nintendo. I could be wrong of-course.

I'm atleast betting it has something to do with Johns elusive project that we don't know much about.
