It's also amusing seeing the team/cast members having some lighthearted fun at the expense of the shirts/merchandise of the "other" park. 

Yep! I don't personally say anything to people who bring merch from other parks. But I do hear a lot of other team members making light-hearted jokes with them and it's pretty funny. A lot of the TMs understand that many of the tourists that visit go on a multi-day theme park binge to Disneyland, Universal, and Six Flags so there is bound to be some merch from other parks walking around.

I wore my Harry "H" sweater on Christmas and changed into it on my way out of work. My manager jokingly threatened to fire me for "wearing contraband." lmao On the other hand, I just make fun of people for wearing any house that ISN'T Slytherin.

Your whole set was great photos.  Thanks.  Regarding the above photos specifically, when I was there on Wednesday they were marking out the job.  I was surprised that they cut the pavers rather than just lift them out.  I hope they're going to redo this pavement area otherwise it's going to look quite sloppy.  

To my knowledge, all of the pavers in that area are going to be replaced. Recall that the entire "cinema plaza" area used to have a unique paver design consisting of alternating colors prior to 5T (See first picture). Since then, nearly all of the pavers at CityWalk have been replaced, except for this corridor which still retains the original pavers (see second pictures)

Hopefully the new lanterns light-up with a flickering flame effect.

If they're just generic lights, then I expect the bulbs to be swapped out for red ones during HHN. (yea, I know its only February, but still)

^ If they're LED fixtures, they can simply switch the color profile to whatever color combination they desire. The new lighting package facing the arch are all composed of LED fixtures.

It's amazing how such "small" details and ornate fixtures can make a world of a difference in the feel and look of something. Looks fantastic.

Here's today's entry passage.  Notice the guy in the statue framing his view with his fingers?  I think Universal is using that to determine how narrow they can make the guest entry.  ;-)

The real reason I poster here is because of the construction walls.  Except did you notice how they're not walls here, just fence with vinyl covering?  I think that means they're almost done here.  I peeked through the gaps and it appears all the big stuff is done. 

And there are three of these wood boxes outside the studio store.  Future signage, perhaps?

Interesting, perhaps to some, that the walls around Hollywood Grill were push back slightly exposing the edge of the resurfacing work.

original plan was putting security full time by the turnstiles. They do it usually towards the end of the day, but tested it a lot the past few monthsBut with the new floor by the turnstiles already done for a while, theres no way theyre going to be doing that. Especially with their new metal detectors

New sign installation has started.  As I drove past tonight they were lowering the bottom portion of the sign onto the two posts.  Sorry I couldn't slow down for a better shot.  The one time I wanted a red light, no luck.

Trees removed and walls pushed out in area of former walkway to Gibson.  I'm assuming this will be exit from Hogsmeade, not that anyone will want to leave. 

In addition to dip or swipe card scanner and numeric keypad there's a touchless card reader.  Is that for ApplePay-type transaction?
