Looking at your individual lists, I am curious how you decided The Thing: Assimilation was number 1? It seems like AWIL rated higher on all but one list.

Drew threatened Hate and I with violence...

In all reality, we all had Dracula and Werewolf at 2 and 3 so we agreed that's where it should stay. Vampyr, Thing and Screamhouse were our individual #1's and we spent a good 30 min deciding why each one would merit the top spot. We even took to Twitter to get some feedback as well. The Thing was chosen by most, followed by Screamhouse, then Vampyr.

Those lists are pretty far apart but a lot of good houses on all of them. Drew, I'm sorry you weren't around for some of the big houses from the earlier years. There really were some iconic houses that you missed.

That helped make it a even more difficult. I was accepting to whatever. But we asked around which led us to our #1 choice.

As we said on the podcast.. ANY of these top 5 could've been number 1. All were fantastic.

So far do you guys feel any of the houses this year have the potential to crack your personal top 25? Like I said in my review I feel halloween is an instant classic kind of house. Just perfectly designed and executed.

For me right now, I honestly feel like Halloween or Dollhouse are potentially strong contenders for my top 25. If the pace keeps up and they strengthen over time possibly top 10.

Definitely on Halloween. Will need more run throughs on the others to find out for sure, though.

Really enjoyed reading this. My first year, unfortunately, was 2007, so I missed out on a lot of the top ones. Just out of curiosity, what made Hellgate Prison push so many boundaries? And what is it the girl was doing on the bed in Castle Vampyr? Lol, as a matter of fact, I'd love to hear any details om the early houses

Just curious HTF, what did you think of The Wolfman during HHN 19?

I loved it and thought it was a great house. My only gripe was it was rather short but otherwise very strong. Another thing is I think it got overshadowed by Dracula and Frankenstein in a big way as well.

Pretty good list there HTF. I don't think you missed too many that I would have on mine.

Thanks, I'm actually pretty proud of my list

The inmates would motion gestures things while calling women bitches and whores. They would reference murder, rape, drug use, and so on. It was an amazing and extremely authentic house. In Castle Vampyr lets just say she was having a lot of fun.... In bed.... Alone.... ;)

There really needs to be a rival of the kinky stuff at horror nights, FDTD was a step in the right direction

A murder porn house would be interesting. It would never happen but it would be really intense if they were serious about it.
