What are the chances that they actually do have some animitronics, but they just didn't have time or money to put them into the California one? If they've had time to actually plan it, would they even attempt this, or does the truncated time schedule make that an impossibility?

As long as this project doesn't end up as another Rockit, we should see it in late November softs.

Anything is possibly, but I'm gonna doubt it.

Sorry, BriMan, but I'm gonna scoop you with the pics I got from my hour long stop in the park today (2 spins on MIB and one Mummy, would have stayed longer, but the weather was looking sketchy). :P

So in these first few pictures you can see that the framing for the foundation is almost complete, including support column and utility connection markings/holes.

I'm not sure why the lens on my phone distorted this so much, it really isn't curved like that.

And this one from just around the corner, you can see how much they still have to dig out. Should go pretty quickly, although I'm trying to figure out where they'll position the excavator to dig out the last bits...

Everyone note the squared off capped rebar areas in this picture. I believe those are column mounts tied into the entire base. Also note the wood framed rectangle thingy with some kind of crossed bars beneath. I don't know what it is... but it is some special feature of the foundation. Just pointing out that this isn't your parent's basement floor.

There weren't animatronics in Singapore's either. I don't think we'll see any in Orlando either. The CGI animations are extremely fast and fluid...making an animatronic probably just doesn't make much sense

And at the very most, an animatronic could only be the characters in their humanoid form. No animatronic would be able to be a car one moment and become an Autobot the next.

So it just makes more sense to utilize screens where you actually get the "wow" factor of vehicles transforming before your eyes in crystal clear CGI from Industrial Light & Magic.

Also, Orlando Rocks has posted a fairly good shot of the foundation progress

GP doesn't know any better. Or, if you really want to get paranoid, maybe it was plain clothes Universal employees trying to do another disinformation campaign? ;)

Since this was an actual vacation, I'll allow it. But in the future, if I say I have an update, don't out-scoop me since it does take a 3 hour drive before making it back home. Thanks.

If you ever need a place to upload photos so this doesn't happen again, I have an apartment literally a mile away from UOR.

I'm sorry, but that's not his fault. You've come off rather petty here.

Petty? If the sole reason I'm going to the parks is to get an update, and I announce it... I think it's pretty fair for the members to not try to out-scoop me. It's not like I live across the street. This time was a vacation, that I happened to grab updates for...so I didn't care that I was beat to the punch.

Coming from someone who contributes to the website this isn't petty at all. I know how much it takes to do updates both physically and financially. To ask the readers to hold off posting their pics for a few hours so we can actually get eyes on our updates is just asking for some courtesy.

I don't think anyone was asking for a TRANSFORMING animatronic, just a simple robot-formed autobot or something like that, nothing too complex.

Chiming in, as someone who has spent time AND resources on going out into the parks and had it announced it's really frustrating to have an update scooped out from us. The fact that this is being called "petty" is what is really upsetting though. It's like you guys don't realize that we put time and REAL resources (i.e. Money) into this website. Brian might have been on vacation. Sure he was enjoying himself, but he still stopped and put time into the website on his own accord. That's what a lot of you don't realize, there is little just going to the parks for us. When we go we enjoy it, but we still have to do work for the site. So please keep that in mind before you go around calling our request "Petty".

On top of that, Brian is kind of the owner of the website. He kind of sort of built this whole thing for you guys, so keep that in mind too.

For months, I check out this site daily as my son and I lead up to our yearly visit to Uni. Although I don't contribute much, I truly appreciate the work of all the staff members and especially you Brian.
Don't know what I'd do without my daily fix from this site. I appreciate all user updates as well, but without staff members we wouldn't have this great resource.

I think some people here have gotten too comfortable which is easy to do at such a laid back website. BriMan and staff are more than fair, but I've seen way too many instances lately of members getting bold with admins. I ask, as someone who has been with OU since near the beginning, for everyone to cool off and appreciate what we have here. Pretty special compared to other forums that rule with an iron fist.

When the Autobots are all 20 feet tall, it's hard to get simple.
