Soooo, what are they doing on the New York side? They drove sheet piles there which means they must be digging deep. Probably difficult to get pictures on that side.

Apparently the ride lifts are visible from Rockit. Who wants to be brave and get some pics?

pretty sure this is the fastest an attraction has been built, ever. Why don't ALL parks do this?

I question anything more than the potential ride lift base plates that a member on here spoke of three days ago. There are four of them. See one below:

Because it is costing them as much as 25% more to build it with such speed. One reason is that the contractor cannot juggle other offsite jobs to guarantee ongoing work. He has to throw everything at this one project, especially his best project managers. This means the contractor needs guarantees. Plus, there are probably mega incentives to hit timelines. Construction companies make a lot of extra cash from these incentives.

Disney doesn't do this because they want to SPREAD the expenditures over as much time as possible in order to satisfy stockholders.

Comcast is fast tracking this because they HAVE to spend this money for some tax breaks in other divisions dating back to the acquisition of the parks.

This is an anomoly and not the norm, I doubt you'll EVER see something built this quick. Look at Phase 2, they leveled it all by January, and all we have right now is a sea wall.

Not entirely true. We just can't see the similar work being done at Gringotts right now. Extensive utility work was done all spring, and dewatering has likely started. We just can't see any of this.

Actually at Universal Studios Hollwood right now.

I'm curious as to what will be done regarding the queue. The indoor queue only holds about 30-40 minutes worth of wait.

I think this will be a nice addition to Universal Studios Florida, but not as amazing. I think Radiator Springs Racers is a better ride (queue sucks). I didn't feel as involved in Transformers the Ride 3D as I do in other great attractions. More like a spectator.

It was either pay Uncle Sam $100+ mil or build this and Cabana Bay. I'll take door B. They had to have it on the books by Jan.1st, 2013. Merry Christmas from your loving Uncle Sam!

And, IMO, this is the way it should work.

Wow, a ton of earth is gone from the center area on the southern end. Makes sense that they would pull south to north towards the exit gate. Universal is actually saving money with this project as they don't have to purchase as much fill from outside sources.

I had heard this rumor, but wasn't certain if it was actually true or not. The images I am seeing here are just simply amazing. As mentioned before, this will never be the norm, unfortunately. I am beyond impressed by how fast they've gone with this. Fun to see so many investments in the park, all at the same time.

Hmm. Pay Uncle Sam or build a ride? Comcast told them to "HOP to it".

Seriously, this is ridiculous. You'll be riding this thing next year and you don't even have an announcement yet! WWoHP was announced for USH and it's been so quiet around there you could hear a pin drop.

I think they announced USH's WWoHP well before they wanted to. It was leaking like crazy already and figured they need to talk about it already. I believe they have to move a lot of things around due to the soundstages before they can start proper work.

Well, I think the USH Potter thing is the reason we haven't heard about Transformers. They clearly weren't, and probably still aren't, ready to announce that project, and some idiot within Uni let slip to the WSJ that it was coming, and Uni got on top of it an announced it...but were not ready to begin moving on the project.
