Ok... news update 43B:

Universal Entertainment had NO idea this was coming. Universal Creative being a separate entity from UE when it comes to disclosure, had no obligation to let them know it was going to happen.

There was another hitch shortly before this for UE regarding SS44. I cannot tell you what it was as I have been told not to repeat the details. But I can tell you that UE has been double blind-sided in a short amount of time over two very very different issues.

So, from this I take away the obvious... SS44 is CURSED!

PS: everything above the last line is true as I know and can tell it. the last line is just me being goofy.

Shift that red over to the side walk on the New York side and you have a near perfect fit.

Here is some interesting talking points that haven't been brought up. What will be of Shrek and Donkey's meet and greet? Shrek won't obviously be around forever and seeing that Universal knows that, what would they want to put there.

With the deconstruction of SS44 for a potential new attraction, how long will Shrek be around? If this got green-light and streamlined I'm saying Shrek might be up sooner than we expected. I'm going to go on a whim and say by 2015 we'll have Shrek replacement.

I made a post on Nightmares about this and here is my thought process. Universal Creative knows that Halloween Horror Nights exist, and even if the two departments didn't communicate they still had an inkling of an idea that SS44 was going to be used for Halloween Horror Nights. Quite frankly, if we were discussing it months ago then it was on the table for them too. I think the time-table they initially had set up allowed room for Halloween Horror Nights and the project was streamlined by investors or what have you. At the end of the day the share holders know that HHN is profitable, but it only last for 6 weeks and that an investment like an attraction is significantly more future minded. My theory is that this decision doesn't come from Universal Creative but from somewhere higher.

I've also heard a lot of discussion about new management and what not. I think it might be a mix of the two, but Universal Creative and Universal Entertainment do communicate. In 2008 when RockIt was being constructed you saw delayed construction for house paths and what not. I know they're under a different parent company now, but there is no way Comcast is telling them not to communicate. I think Universal Entertainment was blind-sided by this, but I think to a certain extent Creative was too.

I'm hoping they use the Donkey's Waffle Cart meet and greet from USH. It's portable and a quick fix.

With Shrek being at the Gaylord Palms now, I would think that Universal is feeling like Shrek doesn't have the "shine" it once did.

Good thing it won't be around for much longer then. If it's still around at all, that is!

With Shrek having 4 movies, a spin-off feature film, a musical, 25 video games, 2 tv specials, and 7 short films (including Shrek 4-D), I don't think anyone will disagree with you. There is no way a franchise with that much media will ever be as fresh as it was in 2001.

Well after Shrek 3, the strength of the franchise took a hard hit. Follow that up with improvements in 3D, and the age of the current film and it's for sure on the chopping block.

^ It was very poorly executed. Shouldn't be so furry, shouldn't be such a no chroma grey, eyes are tiny and piercing. Should be a very low nap fur and even no fur on the face, should be a warm tan grey, eyes should be 10% larger than the actual character and whites of the eyes very visible. Check out google images for shrek donkey and then compare to the puppet picture above.

It seems likely to me that Monsters will stay open throughout construction and then be re-themed to the new SS44 attraction. Why tear it down when it can get new life with a new theme?
