totally! It'll definitely be interesting to watch from my end seeing as to how I probably wont end up there again until Rock the Universe or the Christmas Season. So...*fingers crossed....they announce something here soon or atleast start vertical construction

I cant wait for vertical construction either and if the rumors hold true then I'll be back in September 2013 to ride this

Yea I really want to know know what this is (more than likely Transformers, but you never know this could also be a year round haunt for all we know and I hope its not that)

Honestly id love to see Kong make a comeback, and have Transformers in that back area b/w MIB and Simpsons. At this point Uni needs some other big name attractions, especially after having their only 2 down for the majority of the day on their second busiest day of the summer. It hurt them...well I mean us quite a bit in terms of crowd "surfing" (most of the day we were moving opposite of the flow :bonk: ) and wait times.

Whatever it is it needs to be a people eater and popular with the public so I'm hoping for Transformers and I'd gladly take a Fast & the Furious ride anyday!!!

Whatever it is it will be a people eater. They'd be nuts to throw some tiny attraction in and not expect Universal Studios to turn into WDWX15 on a July 4th when Potter 2.0 opens. But Despicable Me is big now and it's exactly what they need to keep us over until this new thing comes, but I don't foresee Despicable Me running strong past that point.

Well lucky for me both attractions will be open when I go so I'll be busy having re-rides on both of them since the park is always deserted in September lol

In case you missed it, a building permit for SS44/Project 609 was filed this afternoon. As soon as that is approved, construction will start on the foundation.

Well I still think the most likely attraction will be the year round haunt.

Uni slipped it in right around closing time. Hopefully everything is in order and the approval process will be quick.

And not a problem. I figured a few people may have missed that as it has been thoroughly buried in the thread by now.

Normally how long would it take to approve a construction permit like the one Universal just filed?

It depends on the process of examination. I'd hope no longer than 2 days but they might have to delay it for further in depth viewing and enhancement

TBH, I can't tell what normal is. The Potter projects are taking forever because of the nature of the work involving the displacement of water. SS44 should not be so difficult, but there always seem to be hiccups. It's been a little over 2 weeks and they are still quibbling over the new laser platforms along the lagoon. Having said that, they may push a little harder to get this one done faster. And it will help if they can rely on the Hollywood plans for Transformers (if that is indeed the case.)
