So, they are going to sheet pile the entire circumference. WHY? One of Bob's pics show a guy right next to one of the piles... look at the water just two feet down... and that isn't rainwater. And the pilings aren't even... so they won't be permanent. Are they going to install water suckers? That will take a good 4 weeks. hmmmmm... I wish I knew the exact why.

Yes, they would typically surround the entire excavation. They may leave an opening for a ramp to move equipment in and out. As far as the ground water issue goes. I believe I caught a glimpse of dewatering equipment, not sure.

Bob's pictures tell us sooooo much. Two pictures, one of which I will post below shows major infrastructure rerouting. That huge black pipe has nothing to do with the attraction... it is a major sewer line or or water drainage pipe. Your pictures are killing me Bob!!!

Sheet pilings can be made even with a saw/torch though.

Actually, I was wrong... they are brand new pilings and they are level and just below sidewalk. Oh well... guess I shouldn't be a beggar on the details when I already know what it is. But I have nothing else to contribute other than why it is being built the way it is. Poor me.

Are you talking about the pipe on the left?

If so, here is a shot of the other end. Not sure what it would be used for.

No, the pipe on the right... it appears in two of your photos. It is 24" in diameter at least.

Below is a closeup and enhancement of the object on the right. It's hard to tell in the above picture but it's actually a stack of sheet piling.

This is crazy! Every time I check the boards this thread has another 10 pages added to it. They demolished the soundstage in a matter of days, driving dump trucks and equipment through the park during hours. Now I look and there's a crane on site. They even knocked out power to a neighboring building (epic win!) I have never seen anything this fast paced in the industry, and words alone cannot describe the anticipation that I'm feeling right now!

So you obviously dressed up like a construction worker and sneaked on site, cause wow. Amazing pictures.

I know this isn't happening but it'd be really cool if Universal eventually got a ride that used the Kuka arms for a King Kong ride!!! Kong would pick you up and you would be on a rampage with Kong all through NYC that would be amazing!!! :kingkong:

That would be pretty awesome. But there would be two scoop type vehicle rides and then two Kuka arm rides. But it would still be pretty cool.

Walt Disney World has five omnimover rides. The number of ride vehicle types is a bit irrelevant.
I've been hearing Universal has received complaints on piledriving noise from guests? Is it really that bad?

Pile driving is mind numbingly irrataiting. It is just constant and loud, imagine some one with a gong striking it every eight to ten seconds and it doesn't really stop. Not what I want to hear when I am on vacation.

Is it loud enough to be heard in Shrek since it's right next door? Not the best noise to be hearing while in a show.
