I was thinking about this last night and it may not be Transformers after all. Being that the Monsters Cafe is seemingly going nowhwere in terms of leaving USF ..could this be a Van Helsing attraction done up Spiderman style? Thematically it wouldn't fot unless the exterior is made to look like ssone sort of museum of grand mansion. Most of us are hoping it is Transformers but what of we are all wrong and IC announces something completely different?

Would it be less work to fit another ride into the existing Transformers layout and still go as quickly as they are?

yes as long as all the props, screens, ride video and the rest of the themeing is completed early eniugh  there was a rumor of a Van Helsing attraction a few years ago that went through the concept stages and never got built due to lack of funds at the time. Until Universal makes any official announcement or until we see concrete and irrefutable evidence this is Transformers I'm gonna call it project x.

I wont be a monsters or horror theme because it cuts out a huge portion of the market. That's why beetlejuice GYR is the way it is.

When Jaws closed, I knew reliable people who SWORE up, down, left, and right Transformers was going in there. So obviously Universal has been looking to move Transformers to USF for awhile, so if this isn't Transformers I'd be really, really, really surprised.

Van Helsing? Don't think so, it's not very popular like Transformers.

Maintenance for USH is on the first floor. I see no evidence to suggest otherwise here.

Except for the Orange County permit docs: "Drains & vents for basement and ride car pits and maintenance pit."

Plus huge garage door sized holes in both the basement pits that have been created:

No need for huge doors in the elevator pits unless you need to move something big through them.

I hope this is sarcastic. It's already looking the same as Transformers at USH, everything points to it being Transformers, and Universal even swerved people with Monster House and other stuff when everyone said it was Transformers...I'm 99.9% sure it's going to turn out to be Transformers.

And if it's sarcastic..good one.

At the rate they're going it seems like something that's already finished. Kong would be different and a nice return even if I never did ride Kongfrontation. If it's not Transformers I'd rather it be something like Kong anyway. Everything still seems to point to Transformers though.

Would they just have Kong footage and play it out in a way similar to Transformers/Spiderman?

That rumor seems to be long-standing. How trusted is the source?

That may not be out of the question. My info back in July was only that Transformers engineering and sound design plans were on many temporary desks within UC back in June. (that and some other stuff I cannot repeat) The buildings are so unique in execution that there would be no reason to reinvent the wheel that was so expensive to engineer in the first place. Take the Kong animation in USH and chop it into scenes. Could be brilliant.

How about a ride that combines Kong, Jaws, BttF and everything nostalgic about old Universal Studios into one fun ride?

I am only saying that at this late date, Kong is not implausible, even though TF docs have been seen on very creative desks in very creative buildings in recent months. Only thing I knew months back was that they were building a hefty TF style two story building. Great cover to use the same docs to build the same building and then have this sudden twist. I would be much more thrilled if this were to turn around and become spider-man version of King Kong, as I always had hoped for a JP version of the ride system.

Wouldn't work. It would need to be all new animation. The specific type of CG animation needed for a Transformers/Spider-Man style 3D ride has to slightly change perspective second-by-second because the ride vehicle passes by the screen in a certain manner. What I'm talking about can be better explained at 3:30 in the following video:
