Didn't someone say that we wouldn't be able to tell the new facade from the original NY facades?
It would just be a shame to look down that street and see some eyesore...shades of DHS hat.

I agree with you to some extent, but SS 44 before it wasn't that great to look at from NY either...in that sense, we didn't 'lose' anything. I'm more concerned about the sightlines from MIB and that side of the lagoon looking over...the TF building is just so much more imposing than what was there before, and it stands out somewhat sorely and makes that whole part of the park look kinda cluttered and ugly. So here's hoping that they can make it blend in!

Was there really a view from the other side though? It was just soundstages and Rockit anyway.

But I'm ready to take back how I felt about the exterior. Certainly doesn't look like it's going to be what I was told it would be. Fail.

Great work Felipe, thanks:thumbs:

Changing day by day now, should we be seeing a certain someone out side the front entrance soon?

I still can't believe the direction they took with the facade and just how good it looks. It ties in the theming better than so many other buildings. Its up there with Men In Black.

It was a low-level building (compared to this) that was tucked back from the lagoon in position to Mel's and the NY facades which angled towards it. While ugly, it blended in and didn't really catch the eye. When this project begun discussions in the summer, you had people who kept saying, "which building is this, now?" when trying to figure out which building was SS44. I don't think people would be as murky about this new structure.

This is an improvement for the park. It will be a great ride. And I too like that it shows how you can get the job done in contrast to Disney. However, quicker doesn't always mean better, and with Uni trying to accomplish so much in Orlando, in Hollywood, in Asia, etc., I sometimes worry that the "little things" get thrown to the side to keep chugging full steam ahead. The FJ showbuilding was example #1 recently, and this hopefully will not be example #2. I am concerned that it will be an eyesore.

The little things are what will bring Uni and SeaWorld to the next level close to Disney, and I am pretty sure we all want to see that. We need to expect this standard of Universal, and not just give passes on things that were done with little care. That’s what separates us from Disney fanboys. Nobody liked what Disney did with Soarin’s sightlines to World Showcase, we should hold Uni to the same level of expectation. IMO.

I know, I know. I am holding out hope for the metal framing studs that I think you or Bob called out.

No, it's not. And I'm still holding out hope it ends up looking good. But now that they've started on the front, I realize it's not going to look like what I thought it would and I'm not as hopeful it'll end up looking good.

It appears that way, as I'm sure if they were going to paint it, they wouldve already before putting on all of these new exterior pieces. But from pictures & video Ive seen, it looks like they might be painting a white border all along the top of the building, so at least it wont all be just one solid grey.

^i think that's just a border around the top.

I will say that this looks better in videos and wide shots. Also, I would prefer they just made all sides consistent instead of doing a wrap on the NYC side.

For me, for years I'd always wonder why sometimes I go I can ride the simulators and be fine, then sometimes I'd get a headache or sick. I finally learned the eye sight / sound actual movement to perception thing that makes people sick and realized this wasn't the case, I was just hungry lol. So Now I eat something balanced before I get on a motion simulator.

It's different ways to prevent in. They have these sea bands that may work, the medicine as one mentioned above, or just don't go on an empty stomach like I used to do. I eat a meal and I'm well on my way.

I was able to enjoy some of the right at Disney World the other day and I thought "Hmmm I didn't get sick" Remembered I ate some wendys before just ending the day at Disney and I felt great! Do you have motion sickness?

^Never on simulatorz. For coasters, theres just a brief moment of dizziness as soon as the ride is over. I guess it also depeneds on when you ride. Ive ridden DD multiple times & it was nothing, but when they let AP holders early, that was 1 of the 1st things I did that morning & me & my ride partner felt a little more disoriented than usual. I never thaught aboiut it before, but is it better to go on coasters with or without an empty stomach? We always eat right before going into the parks.

BY The way sorry this isn't directly related to transformers, for the thread leaders.

But for me Themeparkvigilante and my g/f who I go with, we eat before we go on. It's best to do something in your stomach. it's suggested not to go on a coaster on an empty stomach. This allows for your body's signals between perception and actual location while moving pertaining to light and sound to become mixed, thus making you feel sick in a result because your body can't handle the mix up. eating something helps solidify the stability your body has to deal with the perception vs reality thing while riding on anything dealing with motion and g forces. Don't go overboard though, just put something in your stomach. Stay away from as many acid things as possible while visiting theme parks as this doesn't help. Things like oatmeal, water, apple juice, etc. might help!

I get motion sick easy .If you take one hand and pinch the other between the thumb and 1st finger.
Has always worked for me .Coaster are not too bad for me but flat spinners do make me feel sick (MIB flat spin)
Empty or near empty stomach is better for me.
