I guess we now know what all that cutting and welding was about Saturday. Looks like NASSAL or one of their subs messed up.

Thanks for the awesome pics, Dave!!

So, even if they touch up the paint here, do we still believe this is the finished product?

The missing beam isn't a make or break thematic element, but it will be interesting to see if they go back and fix it.

I know that I might have to end up eating crow, but I just can't believe that's gonna stay a chunk of metal on the side of the building. I want to think they're gonna cover it and hang something really heavy from there. I just can't wrap my head around just a chunk of metal.

I don't believe they are going to hand something "really heavy" from it. They way this is mounted to the main structure precludes this. Now, if they have made a 3D theming element that does not weigh that much we are all set.

Makes sense, but weren't those pegs part of the internal structure? Like they can really hold a lot of weight? Either way, I expressed myself incorrectly. :P I didn't mean "heavy," I meant "big." I associated the two, but I really just meant something big to be hung from there.

at the time I would have guessed the floats that were being changed were in there with the ones that were just being cleaned up... Remember, they had to be stored out doors and not covered very well when HHN took the back part of the warehouse. I KNOW i saw the kind and queen float at the barn doors and that didn't change at all. Mind you this was around when Macy's was going on so those floats were active and not mothballed... not to mention all of the balloons that were in the warehouse too leaving little room for mardigras. Now that they are gone that leaves space for either A production and B random storage for transformers... B is more likely

I believe the rust and burn looks on the metal structure are supposed to be there. If you look closely, the Autobot/Next symbol looks a little faded. Like it's been there a while and isn't brand new (even though we all know it is). I doubt anything will be hung from it. As for the metal sticking out by the entrance, I think it will be for the entrance sign/marquee. Just my two cents.

The way the horizontal members are attached to the vertical members of the main structure limits the amount of weight they can hold. In this case there was limited vertical bracing for the horizontal mounting points.

These areas are the result of cutting and rewelding the structure. I was there during this process. Like I stated earlier, someone messed up.
