Last week I went to the parks for the first time since they had just put up the walls for Transformers--I will say that it looks much better in person. However, I still think that a light brown-ish color would do wonders for the building. Even just some aging effects would really elevate it. As it is, it's pretty good but I feel like those two little changes would've improved it a ton.
The only real issue I have with it though is how large it is and how it ruins sightlines across the lagoon and from the Plaza Stage (Monster's Cafe is going to need some work before that gels). On the Old School Universal thread there's a great picture of Universal's opening day and even though it's from an aerial perspective, you can tell how all the sightlines and layout just works. HRRR screwed a lot of that up, but with Transformers right in the middle of everything, I've kinda given up hope on USF ever returning to the glory that was its opening day. At least IOA is still 'pretty' lol.
Even so, I'm still anxiously awaiting soft openings!!!
