Thanks. But, does the car spin (360-degree spins) as much in Transformers?

I don't really remember any spinning action, nothing like what is in MIB. The car rotates, but I would say a high speed spin.

According to UOR's Facebook page, they only seem to be offering softs from 8am to 9am.

Based on DM softs, they will let anyone in and keep going for the whole day. But that is if they don't have to make changes. If they are still working on changes and stuff I can see them shutting it down at some point during the day to make those changes and then opening it back up.

Just had more random thaughts on how this great ride could be greater. Now we all know they couldnt create animtronics- too big, too complicated, etc etc. However, I dont see how it would be difficult to have parts of the physical sets move.

For example, in just about every scene, you see containment barrels as part of the physical sets. & in one of the screen scenes, the RV crashes into some barrels that almost get knocked over. It would be so much cooler if they created that effect using the REAL barrels, as in you seem to crash into them & either almost knock them over, or knock them over completely.

Same thing with the helicopters in the second scene. 1 helicopter is real, the other is part of the screen. It wouldve been cool if 1 of the robots either throws an object towards it or gets knocked into the real helicopter, & it moves, or even better, flys toward your RV, kind of like the train coming at you in Disaster. Man, it gives me goosebumps just thinking about an effect like that, which would probably be possible using Kuka arm type of technology. If they had stuff like this, it would be like "Spiderman the Ride what???" & there wouldnt be any questioning that TF hands down beats Spiderman.

So while there is less sets in TF than Spiderman, they couldve made up for it by actually having more moving parts in the set. In Spiderman, there's the moving ladder that Spidey jumps on, the garbage truck, the levitating Staue of Liberty Head, the levitating shipping crate, the green laser that comes OUT of the screen & projecting onto props, the real fire ball, the collapsing building, & so on. In TF, I dont recall any "real" moving parts, & only 1 real physical effect, the fake fire ball. Oh, & some strobe lights & fog.

So who knows, hopefully something like this would be possible for a future refurb/upgrade, but will just dream about it in the mean time. Its almost tempting to make a video mock up of the possibilities.

So dont get me wrong, I do love this new ride, & if I didnt care about it, I wouldnt be thinking about it in such depth. Come to think of it, there is no other ride that gets my imagination buzzing like this one does. I'll be there next Sat at 8 to get in as many rides as possible!

I have a quick question...

Does anybody know how "intense" Transformers - The Ride is when compared to attractions such as The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man or DINOSAUR? I'm curious because I would like to ride it tonight, but I am not very fond of spinning or extreme simulators.

I would say it's actually less spinny than Spider-Man. You should for sure give this a try!

It does pivot pretty drastically but it doesn't do the multi-360s that Spider-Man does.

I am glad that this thing tells us what a fire alarm looks and sounds like, but how do we distinguish from a strobe and horn that is part of the show?

I'm pretty sure if the fire alarm was activated all show effects would disable, service lights would go on, and the ride would E-stop. Same thing happens in movie theatre minus the E-stop.

Thanks to both of you for your responses!!

I will give it a try next week. Today I didn't have enough time, sadly.

Fire Alarms in the parks are very distinct. I've heard them before. The alarm is a different kind of buzz / bell than you're used to and I think it might have a voice too. Fire alarms don't E-Stop rides though. They leave that up to the ride operators. It wouldn't be smart to leave guests locked in vehicles out somewhere stranded if the building were on fire.

To expand on what Capacity said: Typically in a case like that unless the fire or damage/smoke from it are actually interfering with the ride path near guests they are not going to stop the ride vehicles at all. They will cycle the remaining ones on the ride path until they are at the exit. The show elements may stop but the ride will cycle out and let guests exit because that is actually the fastest and safest way to get everyone out of the building.

The grey color of those buildings clash so much with Mel's and the Shrek SS.

Correct. That happens with most rides in any park. E-stopping is usually not an option when there's a fire, as it usually takes less time to just cycle out the ride instead of evacuating.

My guess is as rides get replaced, the sound stage buildings will go away. Meaning they will be themed better to fit into the new style Studios is going with. So while it may look bad now, in the future it will fit right into what they do with those other buildings in the future. We all know Shrek will go away at some point.

So TF shot USH's attendance up by 15%.

No wonder they fast tracked it for USF.

Transformers certainly helped the cause, but was far from the sole reason for the 15% attendance increase.

Looks like UOR's attendance growth is slowing, down from over 20% for IOA to 4% this year.

Still, that's above the baseline 2% economic growth that we've seen across the board, but not by enough.
