when folks talk about an opening date, I would guess they would want more of the road construction in the area finished up before the change in traffic -- just wondering if anyone knows when the road improvements should be done as I assume that could have an impact on when the park could open. Thoughts?

Alicia actually just mentioned this at the end of her latest video. Looks like the roadwork may not be done until closer to the Summer based on her reporting. An official grand opening would definitely require these roads to be open. Now a TM or AP preview may not.

thanks! I hate to say I have not kept up w/ Alicia's (and team) and their great work!

I was just in the area the other day rather early in the AM (6 ish maybe) anyway, there was such a line of cars (workers) getting in the one gate they had open for them....folks coming from the south had to U-turn to get to the end of the line.

With all (and I mean many back of house/support looking buildings) I imagine the public entrance would not be there, but it made me think, I have no clue how all these folks will get to this park and I know there are roads in the area being worked on.

What effect do you guys think Epic will have on the other parks. I'm planning on visiting Universal Orlando next summer(unfortunately my plans for this summer fell through). Do you think Islands and Studios will be more crowded with the Epic overflow or will they be slower with so many people going to Epic. I actually might skip Epic due to the crowds and wait for the following summer.

I'd imagine it has to come before the holidays this year, during HHN? Can't imagine they want to hold off any longer with 2025 trip planning underway.

1 am sitting on my balcony and hear many fireworks. It wasn't at USF because I would have been able to see them. I am guessing Epic testing. There weren't any of the BIG Booms like with the last fireworks test. Probably because it's 1am.

Heard them, much fainter than last time, didn't see anything over Helios/the sparkly hotels. Not sure if it was EU or not.

(But I'm glad you posted because my wife didn't hear them and looked at me staring out the window like I was crazy.)

They didn't last long, maybe 3 mins. Maybe it was SeaWorld testing or for a corporate buy-out.

I wish theme parks in general especially ones that use to stay open to 3 am would stay open until midnight especially on thursday/friday nights.

(More likely it would be massive beneficial for local after work traffic to the park when a certain company right now to Epic Universe most of its staff only work 4 days week and most have disney annual passes but not universal because of the hours don't make sense for going after work regularly aside from HHN(

Hopefully. I know that hours will be seasonally adjusted, but in general this feels like a nighttime park.

For those wanting quick notes... he is stating opening date of April 11/12th due to vacation dining deal ending on April 10th.

While that theory makes sense, he also states AP/technical rehearsals as early as mid-February... which sounds bullish. I also think opening a park during the height of Spring Break is an operational nightmare.

Also, Easter is late this year (April 20), so big crowds then as well.
