Opening date (at least month) should be announced by the end of this year, no? We're very close.
VelociCoaster's opening date was announced on September 28th, 36 weeks prior to opening on June 10th the following year.
Volcano Bay was first announced to open back in June 2016, targeting a June 1st, 2017 opening date. Universal then announced the following year in January, that it'll open on May 25th instead, a few days earlier. So, Universal had a more detailed timeframe 49 weeks prior to opening (even though it wasn't ready).
Hagrid's Motorbike was announced to open on June 13th, in February of that same year, 16 weeks prior to opening.
So Universal is a bit difficult to track unfortunately. However, their hotel announcement to opening dates are a bit closer aligned:
- Cabana Bay opened on 3/31/14, announced 2/26/13, 57 weeks prior to opening.
- Sapphire Falls opened on 7/14/16, announced 9/9/14, 96 weeks prior to opening.
- Aventura Hotel opened on 8/1/18, announced 5/10/17, 64 weeks prior to opening.
- Endless Summer Surfside opened on 6/27/19, announced 3/20/19, 14 weeks prior to opening.
- Stella Nova opens on 12/5/2023, announced 1/21/2025, 59 weeks prior to opening.
- Terra Luna opens on 12/5/2023, announced 2/25/25, 64 weeks prior to opening.
I have to imagine, baring any setbacks, that Universal is now in the "comfortable" range of announcing a more exact opening timeframe.
