Dinosaurs is a good, all-weather brand. But there's only so much you can do with it before getting repetitive. I just don't like that the only way to see most of the dinosaurs is on a water ride, though I don't see them replacing it any time soon.

I wish that they would get rid of the dueling racing coaster in favor of a larger expansion plot. I feel like it is just plopped there like you would see in a Six Flags parking lot.

I have a feeling there’s more to that coaster than any of us realize yet.

Considering the coaster they just built is one of the top 3 rides at the resort, I'm all for more "unthemed" coasters at Universal

Yep. Better yet just put Velocicoaster in EU as well so I dont have to get in my car and leave EU to go ride it!

They could always just tear it down when they've filled the other expansion slots decades from now. And it's not intruding on the park theming given how the lands are designed.

People like rollercoasters, and I am one of them. I like the concept of the rollercoaster, but I don't like how the expansion plot is situated. It would be a long dead-end, with a long way back to the hub if they do put 2 additional worlds back there. What are the chances the chances that half is used in park and the rest just becomes more backstage stuff...

Or, just one giant Lord of the Rings type massive IP land, with its own loop, like a mini theme park. I mean, Monsters and Dragons all have loops in them, so stands to reason that that new land would someday too. Not so much a dead end, ya know.

I do like the mini-loops of the other lands, but they are right off the hub. This would be more set-back. It'll be a while before they get back there so who knows what they'll come up with. But they'll be limited in what can be done right in the part that connects to the hub.

I dunno, once you start throwing in some large showbuildings, the paths don't seem so long. This is no more a walk than the entrances to Galaxy's Edge, regardless of which side you come in on. And that land is similar in size to this plot.

EDIT: I mean, think about how far you have to walk to get TO and then INTO Pandora from Discovery Island at Animal Kingdom!

I’d rather it be a B&M wing, even if they’re supposedly not the most forceful. Completely different ride type than anything they have and different enough from anything the SWE parks have, also very high capacity. But I know that’s pure blue sky.

Great opinions and observations on the coaster, everyone. I am heartened by the fact that Universal knows how to wow us with coasters.....I hope that it IS as good as their recent coaster efforts.

What equals Cedar Fair?

I always laugh at the hate for show buildings...even most classic Disney rides have a themed facade with an unthemed show building in the back.

I am impartial to showbuilding or not

Personally, I think showbuildings are limiting and no coaster in a showbuilding really cracks my top 50

I *am* constantly annoyed by the dismissive attitude of people claiming that a massive coaster outside is somehow lesser of an experience than a dilapidated space coaster from the 1970s simply because it's all outside

Additionally, the comparison to Six Flags is strange as Six Flags actually has some stellar coasters at their parks.

"But they have Kia posters in their queue lines so OMGZ THEY ARE SUPER TACKYYY"...it's a misguided put down at best

I wish people would be honest with themselves and admit that this comparison is a trite way to dismiss things as "not Disney"

Ironically, I hope that Universal runs 1000 miles per hour away from anything Disney is doing and their process.

I'm also not in the "if it's a good ride, who caressss" party. I think Universal has proven they can marry "theme" with a more intense and thrilling coaster.

Not just with Velocicoaster, but with Dragons and Hulk that preceded it.

All that said, I think the space coaster is a perfect addition to EU, and I won't be concerned about it falling apart while I'm on it like the one down the road

To an extent, I like thematic integrity/immersion. It goes a bit too far when it prevents attraction diversity.

I'd love a B&M giga at WDW.

I truly don't get why everything always has to come back to a comparison with Disney.

Like what you like. It doesn't need to be justified by ragging on Disney.
