I actually didn’t know that street was already called Illumination Avenue.

I would guess most people don’t! But the whole press release was weirdly specific and seemed sort of catered to diehards from how I read it.

Probably already mentioned somewhere on these forums, but Illumination is doing the new Super Mario Bros. movie coming out next Spring. Mario merch with other Illumination merch in that area?

It would be cool on Minions Blast if the ride had a similar effect to Secret Life of Pets. Where instead of you being turned into a dog on the screen across from you, you're turned into a villain. That could be pretty funny. Though with the villains being people, I'm sure some would be offended if your race or sex didn't match. I'd just laugh, but I know others wouldn't. Maybe you could choose what your villain looked like ahead of time in the queue, like building your car for Test Track. I know this won't happen, but that would have been fun.

You seem to be correct, google street view shows Plaza of The Stars running between Shrek 4D and Minion Mayhem, and Minion way as the street directly in front of Minion Mayhem. Again though Shrek 4D is still open in street view, so maybe it’s outdated and the street was renamed recently?

I would stand by my point though…if anything, just one of those obscure little street signs will get renamed while the overall aesthetic and every attraction not formerly known as Shrek or Monsters Cafe remains as is. Something so minor that I’ll end up imagining a new name for it all over again in a few years anyway

The whole "entrance is backstage" works best when you're walking in from a parking lot, less after they built CityWalk.

And with, arguably, the best-themed entrance land at the park next door.

Hopefully, they give DMMM and Villain Con their own painting scheme to distinguish it as its own area/land at the very least.

Entrance arch to the lot. Lost & Found and lockers are props, MyPictures themed to film cameras for rent, then Soundstages for production, and then the "backlot" sets for the rest of the park. Worked way better before they added HRRR and got rid of the boneyard.

Always thought this was obvious. I was always surprised when people hated on production central, as it’s such a logical entrance thematically for the park.
