I'm a big Mugglenet/cast fan, but I agree--they should chill out about LC. I don't think Potter should take over the entire island. I feel some form of expansion is ineviatable, whether it is one or two more stores, or one ride. Somehow, they'll milk it for all it is worth. But I don't think WWoHP should be two entire islands in size. I understand why they'd want that--we're Potter fans, and yes, we will always want more Potter. However, I can see some people being aggrivated that Harry Potter is taking up such a large portion of Islands of Adventure.
Seriously, the place is pretty much brand new. It's great. I think we should enjoy it as is for now.

Universals next best move would be to revamp the LC. They have the perfect setting for an epic attraction, Poseidons Fury could be gutted for an actual ride in my opinion. It's cool but come on...Sinbad and Fury= too many shows and 0 anchor attractions

You've got to remember, the only new construction was the castle. Otherwise, it's the same SIZE as LC. Now in attraction count, HP is only 3 rides. Stores, IMO, aren't counted by the GENERAL public as attractions.
IMO, Hp will expand slowly into the LC, because honestly, it's the least noticed land, and probably in the worst shape of all the islands.

But it will happen slowly, and it will not happen immediately. I agree - lets enjoy it for what it is at the moment, and what happens will happen regardless of what we think...

So does TL, JP (And thats if you count Camp Jurassic, or when TDC is open). Not to mention LC which has even less. Also, I think most people count Ollivander's as an attraction, bringing the total count up to four.

Ollivanders can be considered an attraction experience, however, that still leaves another island as top. And LC is less BECAUSE it was what they used to make HP... It was the one they gave the boot (sort of). Now they MIGHT be finishing the job. As I said, we don't know whether it will or won't, and regardless of your opinion, you cannot prove it at this point. No matter how much you think it won't or shouldn't. Or will or should...

Frankly, considering how well Potterland is still doing, I would be amazed at Universal if they DIDN'T consider expansion. I mean, personally, I'd love to see them show Lost Continent some love, because, like many of you, I think the land is superbly themed and I'd hate to see all those cool, unique shops and props disappear. Still, I think it makes pretty good business sense to expand on what's already proven to be hugely successful, and I'm sure, by this point, Universal has recouped whatever losses it incurred in bringing Potterland to life. If you want your business to stay successful, you've got to put money back into it. What better places to do that than Potterland and Lost Continent?

Unless, of course, they're earmarking some of those profits for if Marvel falls through. ;P

I think it's quite funny that there is so much venom being thrown at the WWoHP expansion. I personally don't want to see HP go into the LC, but some of the arguments on here don't make sense. How is HP expanding into the LC the equivalent of it taking over two islands? I'm pretty sure that HP took over 1/2-2/3 of ONE island. Taking over the rest of the island is taking over the rest of the island. Nothing more, nothing less. As for the argument that one property shouldn't dominate an entire island, I encourage you to take a close look at a map of IOA and focus your attention on that dino-y landmass at the top left...

I agree. There is only 3 ways the future of IoA is going go.

1. Potter Expansion
2. Marvel Re-do
3. JP Expansion

As I've said before, it's obviously inevitable that there will be some sort of expansion for Potter into LC. There is so much talk coming from everywhere that it can't be just a fanboy dream. My bet is for it to take over the Arabian section.

You guys keep arguing that we're blinded by our love for HP, but you continually say things that don't make sense. It seems like your the ones "blinded" by your theme park love.

I love LC, and I think it would be REALLY cool if Uni brought it back to life and added a new ride, etc. However, you guys look at the facts. Don't tell us to; we've already done that and based our arguments on the attendance increase and merch revenue.

See, the thing about LC is, you've already got buildings. I'm not saying Uni isn't willing to put in the effort, but it would be easier to do it in there. Besides, the only thing that would fit behind Hogwarts would be A. The lake, or B. The forbidden forest (that's a good idea though, and another strong possibility). So you think that, what's now a half island, becoming a full island, would be overkill? There is barely enough room to walk during the busy seasons... You don't think they could use more room? Secondly, LC has already been half taken over. Instead of taking over parts of other islands (no matter how unused they are), why wouldn't Uni finish what they started?

If uni does expand Harry, then pretty soon they will need to buy more land and expand USF or IoA because both places are getting way to crowded or make an entirely new park. They don't have enough room as it is so they are going to have to expand soon, and I hope they do!

Here we go again. I'm a huge Harry Potter fan. I bought passes to Universal so I could be a frequent guest to WW. Do I think that Lost Continent is just going to replaced with Potter? Not at all. I'm sick of stating my reasons... Look at the bigger picture. You all classify LC as being something that you can just throw in some Potter. There is no way that Potter could be expanded with what it is now, in a way that would look right or be in any way acceptable to Mrs. Rowling. They need to improve their problems. Ollivanders is a disaster. They need to make it bigger, or have multiple show rooms.

I'm not blinded by anything. I am using common theme park sense. :doh:

Exactly my point, if expanded, Potter's crowd load would be more dispersed.

As am I :doh: right back at you. You look at the bigger picture. I see HP making a lot more money in the big picture than LC ever will, with or without crowd kill. Because it's something people recognize a bit more than LC. Because it's something people grew up with, whereas Greek Mythology, while wonderful literature, just wasn't something people read throughout their teen years, you know what I mean? LC also isn't the reason people go to the parks, nor is it the reason people stay in the parks...

Ollivanders line is not as big a catastrophe as it could be. It's an attraction I plan on waiting for and I know people on here have waited for.
As stated before, it's a theme park. It only has to be paritally believable. Trust me - it could work, and they would find a way to make it work... All you need is a semi transition (such as fog for an apparation type of thing, or a Hogwarts Express walkthrough... Or possible some sort of Floo Network attraction)... And they could squeeze quite a few things into LC, such as Diagon Alley (small, with shops that were not in Hogsmeade, such as the Ice Cream parlour, another Ollivanders [there, we've helped solve your problem with Ollivanders], etc).

NO, I think adding another part to the WW could be overkill. What we have now are the only things within a close distance of each other, besides the Forbidden Forest, which I actually would like. Anything else would be weird, as nothing else is as close to Hogwarts or Hogsmeade as LC and WW are now. Also, if they come up with a good, plausible explanation for things like The Burrow, Malfoy Manor, Diagon Alley, etc to be that close and it is as good as the current WW, I would be more than fine with WW taking over LC (preferably not Mythos though, nothing should change with that).

For a theme park, yes it does only have to be partially belivable. But Jo is incredibally strict with these things. They'd need to find a great transition in order to please her.

Just as easily, we could make a few buildings taller to hide the castle. I'm almost positive that Uni could either do that, OR come up with a reason.

^^ When you have 30+ min waits to get into all the shops at 4:00 PM in mid January I wouldn't say its overkill as much as I would say its a no brainer. And I know the shops are small but the fact is people are WAITING, I mean the line for Ollivanders was so long they had to move the people in the queue because it was blocking part of the Durmstrang and Beauxbatons mini shows. I got a few pictures of the crazyness I will post later tonight.

Well, I'm almost positive, judging by the effort they put into it the first time, along with J.K. Rowlings approval standards, that they would find a way to make it work and make it plausible (like I said, I'm almost positive that a few well placed large buildings could block out the castle, and a good transition would make it plausible...)...
