well maybe they will announce Transformers and confirm more Potter is coming (as they have in the past) I doubt we will see concept or a huge presentation...that will definitely be it's own event.

Then they wont even be confirming it because they have already confirmed it. So it would be pointless even saying it. Plus it would take to much away from TF, as well as people will decide to wait until both attractions are open.

This is strongly rumored to be the case. No confirmation that I know of, but don't be surprised if it happens.

@cmdisbrow posted some construction pics. It appears that the second tower crane near FFL is definitely going up now.

Why hasn't anyone taken photos of the new projector housing in front of the Victoria embankment?

The latest tidbit of knowledge from Screamscape....

(10/17/12) One of the big questions about the London project has been an endless speculation about just who will build the coaster ride system inside the rumored Gringott’s Bank. Almost every coaster manufacture in the book has been mentioned once or twice, with only a few exceptions.

It was the mention of one of these rare exceptions to me earlier this week that just made my brain explode. While most have been expecting to see Premier Rides come in to work on the project, or one or two other choice favorites, someone slipped the name Intamin to me the other day. The primary reason behind the rumor was the idea that a Freefall Drop Track gimmick may be used at some point in the ride, very similar to the one Intamin build for Thirteen at Alton Towers. Unfortunately that ride, like many Intamin coasters, was plagued with issues and some extended bouts of downtime it’s first year, which was a primary reason Busch Gardens Williamsburg opted to try out Zierer’s version of the same element on Verbolten. (Not to mention getting stung by the Intamin downtime bug with Cheetah Hunt in Tampa just the year before…)

So would Universal opt to try out Intamin on Gringott’s of all things? On top of having their own rumored bad experienced with past Intamin products, I shudder to think that Universal would be willing to risk their big Harry Potter themed coaster ride, one that will have people lined up around the resort for hours, all hinging on the hope of little to no downtime issues from an Intamin coaster. After all, we saw what a quick poor choice selection of coaster manufacture did for Universal over at Hollywood, Rip, Ride, Rockit. And if Universal thought they had unexpected issues with the size of the restraint system used on Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, most Intamin restraints are even more size restrictive to those who are overweight.

so it seems the "drop track" is a very popular rumor. Which makes me really excited. I've always wanted to ride one of those coasters. Adding Potter themeing to a drop track coaster will be win win for sure.

I hope we can have another Forbidden Journey opening. Knowing how new the tech was, I'm still stunned as to how little downtime there was for the attraction.

Whoever they choose to manufacture the coaster portion of the ride, I just hope that its not plagued with problems like HRRR.

My thought is they are putting up that building first to give time to work the bugs out before the rest of area opens, also they may have this ride in testing before they announce it ;)

If they do use drop track it will not be the first install and hopefully they learned from thirteen what can go wrong and build it right the first time.

New tech and pushing the boundries will cause small problems till they get them worked out

In all honesty, that's my take on it as well. The front wall looks like it's getting ready to be put up. IMO that's happening because ride construction will happen sooner rather than later, and they want to hide that.

Why do you want a picture of it HTF? And what makes you think the red bouy is gone RJ? It is present in the aerial pictures.

If the drop track rumour does turn out to be true, I hope Uni do something a bit new with it somehow... I mean it's kind of fun, but it's not that amazing and it's been done three times now. Th13teen's is fun because it has a two-step drop; the track does a mini drop of ~0.5m just to extract screams from people who don't know it's coming, then it does the main remaining drop of ~5.5m. Combined with the sound and light effects, plus the physical effects of wind machines etc it's quite fun, but nothing as innovative as the things we see in FJ. For me, to compare with Phase 1, Gringotts really needs to innovate rather than taking something which has already been done.

Well, in the recent pics BJ posted, and the one HTF quoted had the seafood shack. The red buoy is the only other one by the embankment (right?)

It's possible to innovate and change designs that have already been done.

Every ride doesn't need to be innovative in the sense that your riding a first of it's kind ride system. A fun, well done, well themed ride, that is aimed towards a large audience, that incorporates new thrills into the Universal resort.

Patents filed in the past few years, along with rumors and reports from contractors suggest that Gringotts will be plenty innovative.

Which is why I said...

All I meant was I hope there's more to it than simply the fact it's a drop section, which isn't that amazing. I'm sure there will be more to it...

Pretty strong faith that UNI won't let us down. To be honest I think FJ is a little overwhelming and confusing, it's not perfect by any means.
