 I know, it's giving me issues... I'll try to post it in the morning...

And Magiquest is an entire attraction on it's own, lots of little kids go there and it works fine  Why would it cause anymore issues than the current wands, seeing as a kid will wave a wand at a theme park no matter what

Because right now they're not encouraging them to wave them around.

What he's saying is that Magiquest already and it seems to work perfectly fine.

As long as it was kept under control I think it would be fine... Parents may have a responsibility but I think the park employees can handle it with a line such as one from the conductor "You there! Don't cause mischief with that wand young man, that's for serious use only, wait until you go off to school and learn how to use it properly!" xD... Seriously though, I think it could be kept under control as long as the effects were spread out. All in one area, we'd get kids poking each others eyes out xD

I was not being sarcastic, but I was not saying that all of JP should go to the WW. I was merely suggesting that a small bit of unused JP land could be turned into an (albeit small) attraction based on the FF, almost like Trike encounter but with a few more animals.

As you can see, there really is not enough land there to build anything without being intrusive on JP, and taking out the Watering Hole.

Now that I look at it, I guess you may be right, but it was just an idea.

This is a hoot. The thread is named "Rumor" and yet all we see here are dreamy dreams and arguments of what may or may not be. This is pointless as I could not give a crap what you believe might be or want it to be. Could someone please create an argument/dreams thread?

As for screamscape, the author keeps mixing good rumor with opinion and therefore the two become blended as truth. A bad mix.

On the other hand... she wore a glove.

Although you have a point, What buildings besides Gringotts are tall enough to block out Hogsmeade. Gringotts is too small to block it out for the entire area.

When you're in Diagon Alley, you cant see anything else. It's a small sliver of the Wizarding World smashed between the Muggle World. Everything is crooked and close together. You could easily hide the existing WWoHP from the guest PoV.

But it would be very weird to just be like, "Welcome to Diagon Alley, a hidden shopping area for wizards in London!"
Then all of the sudden, BAM! "Welcome to Hogsmeade! A shopping village, just off the entry of Hogwarts... in Scotland!"

30c3z1z.jpg

Now, while we are in a theme park... It's very unrealistic to have an area in London be within walking distance of Scotland. If you are a fan of the series, you know that even wizards don't have it easy traveling from one country to another... how are they going to get muggles there, whenever they want? Going to have to walk through a small walkthrough of a train? Or a spinning tunnel of green fire, as floo powder? I'm sure guests would not want to have to go through an attraction, just to get to the other side of a Land... which does feature the star attraction, FJ. Or, are you saying they are just going to be right next to each other? In which your suggesting that London and Scotland are within walking distances of each other.

Well that is obviously the concept of the "World Showcase" giving you a taste of all different countries, can not be compared with something in the same themed land, having you bee in walking distance of two countries... is not the concept of the Wizarding World. Not something to compare to Epcot, where that is the general idea.

This is the reason that, while I'm on Team No/Minimal Expansion, I am okay with no transition. LC was Greek, Arabian, and Medieval with no transition. In fact, much of the great initial impact of visiting WWOHP is the fact that Hogsmeade clashes so much with LC, it really smacks you when you see it. Which is another reason I don't care for Diagon Alley to precede Hogsmeade. Maybe if that plaza is open enough that guests get still get the impact.

Ahh, but you have neglected the concept of Islands of Adventure (Which is why I asked many pages back).

Enjoy.

There has always been a lighthouse. Travelers from far and near would journey to see the lighthouse and eventually built a village by the edge of the sea, and yet with all the activity in the village below, the lighthouse remained dark. No one knew why, but it would never light. Eventually over time, the travelers had stopped coming, and the old village was beginning to fade.

One evening, much like tonight, as the villagers were settling in for bed, they noticed a child walking toward the sea. Naturally curious, the entire village followed this child to the shore. This ghost like child stood in the shallow water, and in its hand was a glowing red marble, which it tossed upon the water. The red stone skipped five times in a perfect circle before sinking to the bottom of the sea.

As the the marble disappeared from view, the child turned to the assembled villagers and whispered, "Are you ready?"

Just then a bright red light appeared above their heads. Looking up, they saw a meteor soaring through the sky, which crashed into the sea in the exact spot where the marble sank. Upon this meteor was a city, filled with superheroes and villians fighting their battles - and Marvel SuperHero Island was born.

The force of the meteors crash was so great that it created a tidal wave that carried across the sea. As it passed the next spot where the marble hit a boats horn could be heard. The wave continued past and uncovered another island, where water and whimsy mixed, and Toon Lagoon came to be.

The wave continued its movement and as it passed the third spot where the marble touched, a lush tropical island was uncovered, where prehistoric animals could be seen flying over head, their sounds carrying to the villagers on shore. And so, Jurassic Park was uncovered.

As the wave continued out beyond where the villagers could see, a tear in the sky appeared over the first spot ripping through the fabric of time. From this tear emerged another island, where the sounds of battling dragons, adventurous heros, and the gods and goddesses of ancient past came to settle. The Lost Continent had been found.

Before anyone had time to settle, a giant fork flew through the sky and landed where the marble had first skipped. From this fork, colorful swirling lights were whisping and whirling around, curving and curling with no straight lines into shapes and buildings and when they had settled Seuss Landing had been created.

Suddenly, the lighthouse flame roared to life and cast its light on the first bridge leading to the sea, upon which the words "The Adventure Begins" had magically appeared.

The villagers all turned back to the sea, questioningly to the ghost like child, but the child was no where to be seen.

As word of these Islands of Adventure began to spread, more and more adventurers began to coming back to explore and the old village on the main land revived and began to call itself the Port of Entry.

Basically, it's not the "actual" lands your visiting. Therefore, distance is irrelevant.

Good luck getting Miss Rowling to neglect that concept, as Universal might potentially change her immersive Wizarding World, into collaboration of two separate wizarding areas, in two different sides of Europe for the sake of it being inside of Islands of Adventure. Interesting story though, I've never read it.

Who really cares? As long as it's well done and there are fun shops and attractions, who cares? You're thinking way too hard about it. You're getting hung up on the whole distance thing. Let it go. You must have a coronary inside of the Forbidden Journey queue with all of the inaccuracies.

Guests won't not enjoy themselves because they're stuck at the arch wondering how they just traveled 100 miles. They'll happily walk on through with Fortescue ice cream and Gringotts galleons in hand as Universal accountants smile in the distance and JKR's charity funds grow larger.

It's already been stated she understands that the Wizarding World cannot be an actual representation of THE Wizarding World in the theme park.

If we get The Leaky Cauldron in this expansion, they need to have Firewhiskey!
