Let me get this straight. The same people who want to expand HP to make for room, and lessen congestion agree with adding Diagon Ally, which is the most narrow little street in the world? 1. I doubt JKR will agreet o letting it be widened like Hogsmeade was.

There are actually a total of nine places to but Potter merchandise, counting Owl Post and D&B seperately, and not counting the online store. Plenty of opportunity to buy a plastic sword.

I love Mythos, and I' hate to see it removed. It is so creative and unique, and is basically the essence of what the original IoA was about. I agree, if the LC gets removed, I would very much like to have Mythos standalone in a miniature LC with the Mystic Fountain nearby, maybe as a Port of Entry outpost.

:iagree: with everything except for Jo not letting the streets of DA be widened. If Uni was ever stupid enough to make DA, on the off chance Jo actually approved it, which she wouldn't, I think Jo would understand a little thing like widening the street just a little.
Everything else is 100% accurate.

There is no official news. There are just rumors that Uni has set up markers back stage behind LC so they can map out where they can put an expansion.

If Jo was willing to compromise on the widening of the streets of Hogsmeade, there's no doubt in my mind that they would consider widening a potential Diagon Alley so that it could handle more people. Considering from a canon standpoint, not from Jo's standpoint, widening Diagon Alley is hardly an impossible task. There doesn't seem to be a limit to magic as a tool. If you can kill stuff and transform stuff using magic, widening a road isn't beyond the stretch of the imagination.

I'm not sure if any of you have been to London, but I have, and they sell plenty of Burgers, Salads, and Chicken Sandwhiches, which is what Mtyhos basically serves. It's not Greek food. They could keep the more popular items and create a few British items to help keep the theme.

Or they could turn it into a Dr. Seuss restaurant...LOL.

here is the menu

seems pretty generic to me, there is nothing "ethnic" about it at all. ANY chef could make this food. Once again, I don't understand the hype for this place. It's basically TGI Fridays.

If you haven't eaten there then you don't know. Its basically an extra $20 you would spend compared to buying a burger in any of the other venues, but double the quality.

I have eaten there once, and it was good, especially because most food in Theme Parks is atrocious. However it's not like it's gourmet or anything. Then again people have different tastes, but I found the food to be pretty average, similar to chain places like Friday's, Chili's, etc. Which isn't terrible just decent. I think Jimmy Buffett's has better food personally, and there usually isn't an hour wait to eat there during the day.

Well it was voted #1 for so many years because of the food and enviroment, if it was just for enviroment then that is messed up because Chefs De France in Epcot, and even the Italian and Mexico restaurants have better quality food. But its a combination of all of them that make it great.

The food there is delicious, its as close to gourmet that you can get without paying exorbitant prices, which is the best part about it. I even think its cheaper than Margaritaville.

Italy, maybe. No way does Mexico have better food. Mexico's food is awful.

I can't agree man. The food is very good, but it's no where near gourmet.

I love Mythos but it amazes me how it beats some of the AMAZING Disney restaurants. How does this restaurant beat the likes of Le Ceiller?

I wondered the same thing, but I think the architecture of Mythos plays a major role in why it has such a fan following. I remember the first time I went to Mythos, and the moment we rounded the corner and I saw all of the amazing detail, I don't think I closed my mouth until well after we were seated. Another contributing factor was likely the fact that Universal was quite the underdog at the time, compared to Disney.

I've eaten in MANY mexican restaurants, and many in Mexico itself, and when it comes to being an upscale mexican restaurant, the food there was absolutely amazing and I walked out of there stuffed.

Now again, most people don't associate mexican food with high end faire, but it was EXCELLENT.

Just throwing this out there, but if all of LC gets the ax, I rather keep Mythos and lack total authenticity than have two restaurants serving British food

I second that.

Our experience with Mythos was superb. The decor was beautiful and unique-- unlike any place we've ever been before. The waiter was attentive and friendly, the food quality was excellent with a wide variety to choose from. Best of all it was fairly inexpensive--one of the least expensive meals of our trip. We walked right in and got seated right away with no advanced reservations. During June. Two days before WW grand opening, so we're talking major crowd time. I don't think there's a Disney restaurant that could pull all of that off combined.

Yes, the food wasn't incredibly gourmet-ish, but that's not what we were there for. It was tasty and not too heavy (served in a well air-conditioned environment). Perfect for a 100 degree/100% humidity day at a theme park.

I liked Mythos. Everyone here told me about its awesomeness so I made sure we went during our trip and everyone really enjoyed it. Of course, there was the part where the fire alarms went off and everyone had to evacuate, but we had just finished so, on the bright side, we didn't have to wait too long for the bill

I ate in the Mexico Pavilian years ago..and I came away thinking it was way overpriced (big surprise) for the food. It was definitely better then Taco Bell Mexican food, but I wouldn't call it Upscale Mexican either. We have local Mexican places that are better around most parts for half the cost. Now sitting in that setting is kind of priceless, so I guess that's what we were really paying for.

Anyway..I think we are getting a bit off topic here...

Yea one last thing though before we :focus:

The Mexico pavillion is more traditional mexican, compared to the stuff you eat at most mexican places and taco bell. Its not all about the rice, beans, burritos, etc... thats why if you're used to that, then you won't like the food there, but otherwise its excellent and the enviroment is second to none...ok now :focus:

food was good, just not $25-$40 a plate good. It was more $10-$15 quality. That's not too surprising considering your sitting inside Mexico in Epcot, which is awesome.
