No way they will announce it for a good three more years.

I will be shocked if this is something big regarding expansion. My cat has lead me to believe they are still in the design/proposal blue sky stage. Any travels across the pond my cat has hinted at have been fact finding, "can we go here to this part of the potter universe and develop this idea" stuff. If new expansion contracts have been signed then I will be stymied. My sand hill cranes appear at a loss as well. They don't think anything of it.... and with that, they pooped in my driveway and flew off for the evening.

Yeah, with the filing of the trademark, it appears that it will be some type of website, not an expansion.

I'm not surprised either, its only been open for one year, they want to maximize their profits from this first part first, make their money back PLUS enough to pay for the expansion in order to basically start at $0 from the day it opens so all the money they make is pure profit and not paying off any debts from the expansion.

Next year is probably the best time. Maybe a little after the last DVD comes out.

Next year makes sense for an announcement.

Also, JK Rowling apparently has a huge announcement in about a week: http://www.youtube.com/JKRowlingAnnounces

Probably has nothing to do with the parks but who knows? And I'm sure there are some fans around here. Sorry if this is well known or already posted I just found out about it today.

As much as people have attachment to LC (including me, the theming is fantastic), I just don't see it sticking around. Too much space where it's delivering the least amount of entertainment. Being next to the most popular land in the park that's making truckloads of money probably doesn't help things. The best theming in the land has already been replaced by Dragon Challenge and Three Broomsticks anyway so I'll live with it. I'm gonna miss that PF entrance though.

I think PF can work as a Chamber of Secrets type walkthrough. Maybe a no name professor or ghost can guide the crowds through the place because I think Rowling made it clear she doesn't want any actors/mascots in the park depicting the main characters. I'm just rambling at this point though.

Good idea, but why would the chamber be so far from the castle?

Same reason the Triwizard Tournament is being held in Hogsmeade right across the street from HoneyDukes. lol

But that's different. The triwizard tournament could take place anywhere, and the locations of it's events aren't as well known. The COS is a definite location, and everyone knows that it's IN Hogwarts.

Meh, I never said it was a great idea, it's just 100% authenticity isn't going to be achieved. We know for sure the house points aren't kept next to Dumbledores office in some hallway, and that the Mirror of Erised isn't just chilling in the dungeons next to the potions class, Hogs Head isn't connected with Three Broomsticks. Not too big a deal. They've taken liberties with the park, that's all that I was saying.

But at least they're all still in about the same location. All the castle stuff is in the castle, all the Hogsmeade stuff is in Hogsmeade. It's still all in the same relative location. Don't get me wrong, it's a great idea though.

There are always chances of argument, although some of your facts are wrong.

The Triwizard Tournament is not in Hogsmeade; they are simply having a rally there to spur on excitement for the challenges. On the day that you muggles happen to visit Hogsmeade, it just so happens that the Department of Magical Games and Sports has made the first challenge that day, and an entrance has been built connecting the village to the edge of the Forbidden Forest in the tent area for viewing (although we can assume that we've been confused as being champions rather than spectators, perhaps by a charm cast of an evil-doer).

The magical artifacts, statues, etc. have all been laid out for our easy access because magic can give us the illusion that we are in one space but really in another, which would explain the layout of the castle; we are in front of the Great Hall for one minute, but then we just happen to travel over to the portrait gallery. You are muggles, and magic affects you all quite easily.

I highly doubt that Poseidon's Fury will be replaced (it seems like expansion is being focused purely in the Arabian section), but I wouldn't argue that a tour of the Chamber of Secrets would work location-wise; remember than when we exit through the cliffs on Forbidden Journey, we have to travel across the Black Lake (with Hogsmeade to our right), so the location would actually work, I just don't think that we should be misled into travelling through there. Plus, the location is already in Forbidden Journey, so repetition isn't going to cut it.

Just some thoughts.

On what information are you going on here?:inquisitive:

Because I'm fairly certain that's not the case.

If I recall correctly, I remember that some markers were found around that area by a member. I could, of course, be wrong.

Much later, imo. Next year might yield the announcement of another attraction, perhaps a serious one, perhaps not, but I highly doubt it is going to be about the Wizarding World. Teebin said his sources were all null and that one said that they were still speculating on what spectrum of the Potterverse is next. This is going to take time, guys; Universal needs to look after the entire resort, too.

Universal has made there big announcement already. I agree with v!olaplayer. I could sit here and type long paragraphs and go back and forth with people as to why Universal would forget the rest of there resort and focus on expanding Harry Potter, but there are 87 pages of the same things being said over and over. All else I can say is Universal has made there announcement for there new plans of Despicable Me and Spiderman, they aren't going to do anything with Harry Potter anytime soon.
